Banyan Roots Conducts Workshop on Organic Home

As an initiative towards a pollution free society, Banyan Roots, the organic food store organized a workshop on the concept of Organic Home on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. The workshop aimed at explaining how to transform a house into a home.

This workshop was divided into 5 sessions. The 1^st session included an explanation of the concept of an organic home by Canadian researchers, Gary and Peter.

They informed the participants about the basic structure of the workshop, optimum utilization of natural resources and the personal responsibility of each member of the house to make it a mindful home. [Read more...]

Dist Collector visits Farm Fair

Making use of the latest technologies including rich seeds on traditional crop growing methods, a Farm Fair was organized on 28^th March at Padrada Village of Sarada Tehsil where farmers from the tribal community have showcased their accomplishment by showcasing high quality fruits and vegetables.

The fair was organized by Gayatri Seva Sansthan, a local NGO working dedicatedly on various development schemes and projects, majorly in the tribal areas of Udaipur region.

District Collector, Hemant Gera also paid a visit on this occasion and congratulated the farmers and assured soon to be introduced beneficial schemes. [Read more...]

Many non profit and non government organizations working in Southern Rajasthan, including scientists, industrialists, educationists and other responsible citizens will come together to form the “Mewar Development Coalition”.

Richard Branson’s daughter visits Lai Village, Udaipur

Holly Branson, daughter of Sir Richard Branson, Chairman of the Virgin group and one of UK’s richest businessman, along with her husband Freddie Andrews spent a few pleasant hours in Lai, a village 15 km from Udaipur on 14^th February. Holly was on her Charity Tour in Rajasthan.

Blood Donation Camp for Thalassemic Kids

blood-donation3 The Blood Donation camp at the MB hospital saw an extremely warm voluntary donation of 14-15 units of blood by noon. Donating blood is still suggested as the easiest effort to keep humanity alive.

Thalassemia affected kids require new dosages of blood every alternate week or so and hence it is very important to keep the blood bank updated. This effort was made to fulfill the same requirement and worked on the agenda of voluntary donation. [Read more...]

vanaver-caravan A unique weekend house-party at Hulchul Café, a part of the NGO, ‘Shikshantar’ in Udaipur was celebrated as Vanaver Caravan, a U.S based music and dance group were received today at Shikshantar’s center located at Kharol Colony, Fatehpura.

Authentic Jazz Dancer, Ramona Staffeld, Famenco Dancer, Marina Lopez, program Director and Dancer, Miranda Ten Broeke and Capoliva Master, Gustavo Caldas were present at the Hulchul Café and showcased their artistic dance moves to the volunteers of Shikshantar and the other guests.

In association with, Big Medicine Charitable Trust, Vanaver Caravan will also attend various not-to-profit events while journeying through Udaipur.
