An alleged overdose of drug resulted in the death of a 25-year-old girl Bindibala Samu Naren alias Reshma while her fiancé Surai John Shantikumar was admitted in an unconscious condition at MB Hospital, today morning. Both belong to Imphal, Manipur. John, being declared out of danger was discharged from hospital after initial treatment, while Reshma was declared dead by doctors.

According to sources, Reshma was working at a local Spa and staying in a rented house at Mulla Talai while Surai John was unemployed and addicted to drugs. He came to take Reshma with him to Imphal where the duo had planned to get married in the next few days.

According to Surajpol Police, both of them checked in at Hotel Ratanjeet at Rangniwas road last night. However, the reason of staying in a hotel was still not clear as Reshma was already residing in a rented house.

Surai John was a drug addict and used to consume pills, as per the statement recorded by the police. He had kept the pills in his bag last night which was not there in the morning. That asserts Reshma might have taken the drugs without her fiancés consent. [Read more...]
