85 Thousand Cash and 10 Tola Ornaments Stolen

A case of theft was reported from Hiran Magri and an FIR was registered at the Goverdhan Vilas police station against the unknown thieves.

Mool Chand, a resident of Sector 11, Hiran Magri, reported the theft in the morning on 14th May 2013. As per the complaint, the theft occurred earlier in the night when Mool Chand was asleep and thieves entered the house. On waking the morning after, they found that Rs 85,000 cash and ornament weighing around 10 Tolas were missing from the ransacked cupboards.

The investigation and search is on.

Bride’s Family Disappears on Wedding Day

Family of Groom faced sheer embarrassment and shock when the family of bride disappeared on the day of wedding. This shocking incident occurred today when Baraat of Milan Purohit, resident of Sagwara arrived in Udaipur to marry Pallavi Sharma, resident of sector 14.

Family of bride, including her father Jaidev Sharma, mother and five sisters were staying in a rented house at sector 14.

Theft reported in two houses at Goverdhan Vilas

Incidents of theft occurred in two houses of Block A and Block B of Goverdhan Vilas area, owners of both the houses are out of town; neighbors informed the police about the incidents.

Jamna Lal Jain resident of Block-A Goverdhan vilas is gone to Mumbai from last few days to attend a relative’s marriage, while another victim house owner Moti Singh Dodia resident of Block. B of Goverdhan Vilas is out for pilgrimage.

Today morning the neighbors saw the main gates of both the houses were lying open and things were scattered inside the houses.

According to Police the watchman working at the house of Moti Singh’s house also went on leave last night and the house was left unattended, both the victims are informed about the mishap.

Case of fraud registered against Sher Khan of Sava

A case of alleged fraud has been registered at the Goverdhan Vilas Police station against Mohammad Sher Khan and Dinesh Kumar, both residents of Sava, Chittorgarh for not returning the cheques of applicant given against the purchase of a JCB vehicle.

Sunil Suhalka, resident of Goverdhan Vilas, and the applicant in the case, had, as per the Police, purchase a JCB from the accused duo in June 2011.

He had paid Rs. 1000 on the day of the purchase and given a cheque of Rs. 6,71,000 as security towards future payment. [Read more...]

Tempo runs over a sleeping Infant Girl

In a shocking mishap that took place today morning, a 1-year-old girl died on the spot after been ran over by a loading tempo. Accident took place at Goverdhan Vilas, near Allahabad Bank.

Tempo Driver fled away from the spot just after the accident.

1-year-old Geeta d/o Shanti Lal from Indira Colony was fast asleep below a tree on the roadside under the supervision of her mother when the tempo driver failed to notice the sleeping child and drove over her body; the child died instantly. [Read more...]

250 Electric Meters blaze at Sector-14

In a major blow that took place in afternoon today, more than two hundred residence of sector 14’s S1 and S2 area witnessed power cut, after electric meters of each house gutted into fire that broke out due to alleged short circuit.

A number of household electronic appliances got damaged in the incident; one of the houses also caught fire, but was immediately controlled by the localities. A female reportedly fell unconscious due to smoke. [Read more...]

Theft Continues in the City

A temple donation box and a jewellery shop were looted last night on 19th March as these two separate incidents were reported from two different areas of the city.

As per the information provided by the Police, thieves ransacked the Donation Box (Daan Peti) of the Vishbeshraya Temple in Goverdhan Vilas. Inside the main temple, there are two smaller temples. The Donation Boxes of both the smaller temples were looted by the thieves.

In another case of theft silver ornaments from a shop named Raj Jewellers at Dabok Chauraha were looted. Raj Jewellers is owned by Ganesh Lal Soni.

As per the Police a hole was dug in the wall of the shop to effect the loot. Jewellery worth Rs. 35 thousand was looted from the shop.

Both the cases have been registered at Goverdhan Vilas Police Station and Dabok Police Station respectively

Laborers Thrash and Rob Security Guard

A security supervisor was allegedly robbed and assaulted by a group of laborers working at a construction site in Goverdhan Vilas area, on the night of 18 March.

Khudilal Gangwal, security supervisor at the construction site of Gulshan Properties lodged police complain that he was first thrashed by a labor Shankar Jat and his friends and later robbed off Rs. 4000 and a motorbike.

Khudilal said that Shankar and his friends entered in the complex at night and started creating nuisance, when he objected; they started beating him and fled taking away Khudilal’s motorbike and Rs. 4000 cash. [Read more...]

4 Arrested as Kidnapping attempt foiled by Alert Policemen

An event manager and owner of a Travel agency, who was reportedly kidnapped, has been rescued by the Goverdhan Vilas police yesterday.

Four of the arrested accused, viz. Ganpat Singh Rathore, resident of Pula, Udaipur; Bhanwar Singh Kumawat, resident of Dewali, Udaipur; Ganesh Bhoi, resident of Sutharwada, Udaipur and Vinod Dhobi, resident of Sundarwas, Udaipur were arrested under the charge of kidnaping the victim Rajesh Singh Rathore who is an Event Manager and also runs a travel agency named “Mukesh Travels”at Goverdhan Vilas. Rathore makes arrangements for Royal Weddings at Udaipur on a large scale, as per the Police. [Read more...]

Thieves target House at Indraprastha Colony

theft-sceneGold ornaments weighing 7 tolas and Rs.70 thousand in cash was stolen from a house at Indraprastha Colony yesterday evening. The complaint was lodged by the house owner Jasoda Devi who is an employee at the Water Works Department.

According to information provided by Jasoda Devi, yesterday when she returned home at 4pm, she saw that her house was ransacked and the back door was lying open. She immediately informed the police about the theft.
