100 Seater Boat to Cruise in Lake Fatehsagar

With an initiative of Tourism Department Udaipur, 100 seater double-deck cruise boat will be shortly seen at the Fatehsagar Lake. The cruiser boat will operate on a 60 minutes slow ride across the lake; it is for the first time in Rajasthan that such a service will be launched.

According to the officials of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) contract of this service is given to Yash Amusement, which will be responsible for purchase of boat and lawful operations of service for both tourists and local mass of the city. [Read more...]

No Vehicle Zone of Fatehsagar to be facilitated with Golf Carts

Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) has announced the launching of golf carts, both at Fatehsagar and Gulab bagh. The facility will be available at Fatehsagar Pal from next week onwards; required electric carts have been recently transported to Udaipur by the respective contractor.

According to Satyanarayan Acharya, Commissioner UMC, the golf cart rides could be availed by tourists as well as localites, however the facility is not free of cost, interested ones will have to pay a nominal charge for the rides. Although the facility will be available at Fatehsagar from next week onwards, some ground work is still pending, like installation of booking counter and finalization of rate list. [Read more...]

Car slings over Boundary Wall of Lake Fateh Sagar

A white colored Volkswagen Polo car was seen swinging over the edge of Lake Fatehsagar after breaking the boundary wall. The accident took place on Sunday 21st April evening at Rani Road (opposite to Hotel Pannavilas).

No fatalities have been reported in the incident, however a large number of people gathered to see the unusual scene.

The car completely leaned down towards the dry terrain of the lake after crashing with the cemented boundary wall.

Save Fateh Sagar, a facebook page invites all those who really care about the lake rather than just praising its beauty and move on.

Fateh Sagar is one of the most beautiful aspects of the City of Lakes Udaipur, but few (read many) gives no dime to that and treats it like their own possession, which they can use/pollute at will.

Paal’s Gates Locked to stop Rash Riding

To stop the driving nuisance at Fateh Sagar’s Paal, Udaipur administration has locked the gates that are installed on the both side of the Paal road (Kala kiwad-Dewali).

According to UIT official Anil Nepaliya, the gates were locked after often-reported accidents in this area.

The decision will surely impede rash driving in one of the most liked place of Udaipur.

Paal ‘No Vehicle’ Once Again

UIT finally showed their concern over ‘No Vehicle’ at Fatehsagar Paal; the initiative declared by the ex-Collector Hemant Gera was concretely implemented with installation of barricades at Paal, to put a check on traffic movement in the area.

Today, barricades were installed ensuring that no vehicle enters the restricted zone at Paal. Though, the declaration of ‘No Vehicle’ at Fatehsagar Paal was made by ex-collector Hemant Gera lobg time ago, there was little consideration given to the declaration.

Candle March and Protests continue in Udaipur

Protests and rallies by various social groups and general public against the Delhi gang rape case continued nationwide today also. In Udaipur, students from MPUAT and CTAE participated in a candle march and prayed for the departed soul of the victim.

March started from Swaroop Sagar where students shouted slogans against the culprits and walked towards Fateh Sagar with banners and posters in their hands. MPUAT president Rishi Upadhyay said that in our nation, where women are treated as God, such an incident is very unfortunate and extremely criminal. [Read more...]

Udaipur Youth Furious over Delhi Police’s action against Protestors

Joining hands with the thousands of protesters demonstrating at Delhi against the gang-rape incident and demanding capital punishment for all the accused, several groups of youngsters held candle-march rallies and expressed their utter concern over the boiling issue.

Youth mostly students from school and colleges walked at Fateh Sagar’s paal chanting ‘We want Justice’ and insisting administration to take immediate action against the culprits. Hundreds of candles were lighted to proscribe the darkness of evil.

Protestors also expressed fury over Delhi Police using force to disperse the crowd that include women and children. [Read more...]
