Blood Donation for Thalassemia Kids

blood-donation-thallesemia2A blood donation camp was organized under the joint auspices of the Raven Foundation, who works exclusively for Thalassemia patients and Cycloctane, a group of enthusiastic cyclists from Udaipur; at the MB Hospital on Sunday morning 15 April.

The event was organized to invite blood donors exclusively for the benefit of Thalassemia  patients.

As per information received from the organizers, 20 units of blood were collected at the camp that was organized from 10 am to 1 pm today.

The Raven Foundation, setup by Dr. Deepak Babel has its office at Badi Village, Udaipur and works to serve patients of Thalassemia.

Cycloctane is a group of young people who promote cycling as a health activity as well as a green city concept. This group approached Raven with their proposal to effect a social cause and thus along with Raven, this blood donation camp was organized. [Read more...]




JSG Blood Donation Helpline, innovation for humanity

The ‘JSG Blood Donation Helpline’ was inaugurated on 1st April, 2012 jointly by all eight social Jain groups in town. The ‘Blood Helpline’ is to promote awareness and to serve the one in need of blood in the case of emergency. It is an On-Call-On-Demand service.

The ‘JSG Blood Donation Helpline’ would serve as a bridge between the person in need of blood and the donor. They would be maintaining a database of the Donors based on blood group, etc. then the donor will receive a call if his/her blood is needed in any situation. This service is free of cost.

“On the occasion of Mahaveer Jayanti on 5th April, 2012; member ship forms and an oath letter would be signed by the Jain community at Fateh Senior Secondary School attending the event of Swami Vatsalya. Jain Social Groups Inaugurate Blood Donation Helpline

Under the banner of Jain Social Groups a blood donation camp was organized today at Jain Dharam Shala, Surajpol.

The program was led by Vijendra Bapna, Zonal Coordinator in which more than 100 people participated.

On the occasion a J.S.G Blood Donation Helpline was inaugurated by Hemant Jain, Additional District Judge, Udaipur and Narendra Mogra, In-charge of Blood Bank at M.B Hospital. 294 Blood Donor Helpline: A social initiative

The Bapu Bazar Jain Youth Business Union has initiated the ‘294 Blood Donors Helpline’ under their banner. This helpline aims to serve as a one-call service to provide the necessary blood group to the person in need. The motive of helpline is to promote value on the tagline “Raktdaan Mahadaan”.

Prashant Jain Soni, Chief, and Vivek Baghrecha, President, Youth Union explained, “A database will be managed in which the names of all the donors with their respective blood groups will be stated, so that we can help the person in need of blood in the minimal time. This would also help managing the stock of different blood groups, and providing the necessary blood group swiftly at the time of need.” [Read more...]

A Blood Donation and Medical Camp was organised by Mahaveer International & Vardhaman Jain Shavak Samiti at Mahaveer Bhawan, Sector-3 in Udaipur on Sunday Oct 16.

This camp was organized to motivate the youth and educate them to love and help the society in noble cause from time to time. The blood will be donated to MB Hospital Blood Bank which will be used in the hour of need to save someone’s life.
