A theft of Rs.15000 has been reported at Hiran Magri police station today morning by Munna Lal Porwal of Manwa Khera. The incident took place at his readymade garment shop, New Excellent Garments in Sec.4.
More than half a dozen persons have been injured seriously in a brutal clash between two groups over an alleged family dispute. The incident was reported today at 1pm at Bida Kachhi Basti (slum area) opposite the city Railway Station.

Another daylight mugging in Udaipur at Mukherji Chowk Area was reported today at 10:15 am. Satyanarayan Rameshwer Lal Verma (55) from Ratan Gargh, Churu was robbed of Rs. 1.25 lakh when two men bluffed him on his way to the jewelry shop near Ghanta Ghar.

If sources to be believed, Parbat Singh Rana, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for allegedly raping a British journalist in 2007 has been acquitted by the High Court and will be released soon. Though the news is already swelling in the local media circle of Udaipur, an official statement from any responsible authority is still awaited.

Raju Gayri 24, the prime accused of Laxmilal Gayri’s murder case has been finally nailed down by the Pratapnagar Police today from the Power House at Pratapnagar.
Raju was on the run soon after he along with three other co-accused allegedly murdered 22-year-old Laxmilal Gayri on 31st January at Pratapnagar. Pradeep Singh Bhati, resident of Kota and prime accused in the murder case of Shekhar Panchal, 22, student of Pacific College Udaipur has finally confessed to murdering Shekhar, who was kidnapped on 31st December 2011 from Udaipur.
After being arrested on 5th February from Kota’s Dadabadi Police Station, Bhati was brought to Udaipur where he had been sent to a remand of 7 days.
In the Police interrogation, Bhati told the Pratapnagar police how he executed the murder of Shekhar and made the false kidnapping to get a ransom of Rs.1 crore as he was under heavy financial debts. [Read more...]
