Udaipur: The 4th Safest City in India

lake-palaceUdaipur is the fourth safest city of India, revealed a survey done by a YouGov, a global market research firm, and 99acres.com, an online portal for real estate market.

Among the several cities on which the survey was conducted, Chandigarh topped the list of safest cities in terms of crime rate, law enforcement and terrorism. The cities placed next to Chandigarh are Vadodara, Shimla and Udaipur.

According to the analysis, Delhi turned out to be one of the most unsafe cities of all. Patna, Kanpur and Meerut followed Delhi in being the insecure cities to live in.

The survey ‘Most and least desirable cities to live in India’ was conducted online from 23rd August to 28th September, 2011 by YouGov in 37 cities of India with the help of 6161 samples. Databank of 99acres.com was used to acquire response to the survey.

The respondents were supposed to rate a particular city on a particular rating, if they are the residents or they have recently visited that particular city.

Chandigarh was rated the highest in the opinion poll by the people in the fields of education, health, living conditions, safety, human rights and culture.

Meerut could score 2.39 out of 5, the lowest in the safety parameters and Delhi got 2.8 that placed it on 34th position out of 37 cities. Delhi according to the survey done was ranked 3rd in financial aspects and health, 4th in education, 6th in culture, 10th in living conditions and 28th in enjoying better human rights.

    There are some negative points-
    # Encroachments everywhere.
    # Unsystematic traffic.
    # Lack of parking everywhere.

  2. safest place my foot…. it seems reported crimes are less as police don’t lodge FIR… one person is beaten so badly that he losses one eye while saving a rape of a girl during day time in the heart of the city…. suspects are still at large…

what about Ganghinagar….Sorry but Udaipur is not on 4 position ..Open your eyes properly and look around you..then write all these type of articles..Nonsence

    • sorry to say, but why are you getting so furious about this ? we haven’t published a “story” it’s the result of a survey. So, kindly take care of the words you use.
      Thanks!

  4. I think the comment of Atikul came out just by reading the news title.

  5. How stupid and un-credible can the poll get if the databank it used were from a site which deals in real estate and would definitely want to influence the results. And while I love Udaipur, I personally feel that a blog of this caliber should really consider the credibility of such surveys before posting the results.

Its a good news. We should be encouraged now and do better to make it safer. As it is always a scope for it…
Remember, its the public, not the police that makes a place safer…

  7. Irrespective of any survey or public views, I personally feel Udaipur to be definitely a safer city in comparison to others. Crime is unavoidable in human civic, but it’s extent is the measure to be safer. I have been brought up in Udaipur, and I do not remember a single incident when I had fear while stepping out from my home. I have been to many cities, and really people (who got scared by few incidents), Udaipur is far far better!!!

No doubt peace is there, despite of that there are so many negative points, some I mention in my comment that we should not ignore.
