Two-Day International conference by Department Of Sociology, MLSU ends
Two-day International conference on ‘Perspectives in Culture, Society and Gender in Subaltern Communities in south Asia’ concluded today in Mohan Lal Sukhadia University Auditorium. This conference was organized by the Department of Sociology, University College of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Chief Guest on the closing ceremony was Professor M H Makwana of Anand University. He talked about the economic problems that Dalit and Marginalized castes face. He said that everybody talks about development but a common man will have to decide what is good for him.
Guest of honor on the occasion was Commissioner of Police Udaipur Range, TC Damor. He encouraged youngsters present on the occasion and said that there is no shortcut to success and there is no replacement for hard work.
Program Head, Professor Sharad Shrivastava said that successful completion of this unique international conference is a step towards the betterment of dalits and other backward classes. He informed that a 600 page book, which includes results from 130 research papers, has been prepared as a souvenir.
