3 Arrested under Arms Act

Three people have been arrested by Surajpol Police for illegally possessing and selling guns. The arrest took place last night after receiving clandestine information of two men roaming in the city with guns.

The accused, 24-year-old Naeemudin alias Naem Khan, resident of Thokar Chouraha and 36-year-old Raju Khatik, resident of Goverdhan Vilas area, were detained by police and two guns, a country made pistol and revolver were confiscated from them.

On interrogation, the duo divulged the name of the person as Babu alias Sheru Khan from whom they bought the guns. Police arrested Sheru from his residence at Bida, near Khanjipeer today. [Read more...]

Jewelry Shop Burgled, Owner suspects a Woman customer

A Jewelry shop owner has reported a case of theft at his shop. The owner has raised suspicion on an unknown woman who came to his shop in his absence, a couple of days back.

Shop owner, Kanhaiyalal Soni, lodged a complaint at Surajpol Police station today stating that jewelries including a gold ring, a pair of gold ear rings and a traditional gold ornament were found missing when he counted the stock on 5 Feb as he does every day before closing his shop. College Girl Hangs self to Death

A 17-year-old girl ended her own life at her residence at Choti Brahmpuri area near Surajpol Police Station. The reason of suicide is still not known, though police is investigating about the cause.

Asha (name changed)  resident of Choti Brahmpuri, committed suicide by hanging from ceiling fan. Incident was first noticed by her relative who saw her from the window in her room that was locked from inside.

She was immediately brought down and rushed to the GBH American Hospital where she was declared dead by the doctors. As informed by the Police, the deceased was a student of First year B.Com.

Thieves Knock Insurance Office at Delhi Gate and House at sec-9

burglarOnce again, Udaipur is witnessing a rise in incidents of house breaking and burglaries as, after the 3-4 uninterrupted incidents of theft occurred in past few days, two more cases of thievery have been reported yesterday at two different places in the city.

The first incident took place in an insurance company office situated at Delhi Gate, while in another case thieves targeted a house at sector-9; the owners were out to attend religious function.

According to the police, suspected thieves targeted an office of United Insurance Company and lifted cash amount of Rs. 33,463 from the safe. Thieves broke the lock of the main gate of office building to enter inside. [Read more...]

Woman Blackmailed for 9 years over obscene Video

A widow woman, resident of Udaipur’s old city area has lodged complaint against a man for blackmailing her from last 9 years after allegedly making her obscene video.

According to woman, she was subjected to continuous torture by the man called Gulam Nabi, resident of Mulla Talai.

Victim woman accused Gulam for making her unconscious and recording obscene video, and thereafter blackmailing her since last 9 years. First, the victim woman reached S.P. Hari Prasad Sharma and complained, later S.P. directed concerned police station for investigation.

Thieves steal Jewelry, Cash from Police Officer’s House

Victim house owner Mukesh Meghwal, originally resident of Jhalor district is a trainee sub-inspector with Rajasthan Police, he was out of the city with his family since 9th Jan for official work in Jaipur. The theft came to light yesterday, when the neighbor Bindia (Sub inspector, Crime Branch) saw the house of Mukesh open, on this; she called Mukesh on phone to find out if he returned back. Threats to Auto Rickshaw driver for “Token Money”

An Auto Rickshaw driver lodged a complaint today afternoon, against other driver for asking a sum of Rs. 25,000 as a ‘token money’ to run Auto on a specific route.

According to Police, Praveen Singh Dordia, Auto Rickshaw Driver, who drives on Dabok – Udaipur route, was allegedly threatened by his fellow Auto Rickshaw driver named Imran. More than 1000kg Marble Stone squashes Road Divider, Iron rods fell over School Van

Two bizarre road mishaps were reported today at town hall road going towards Delhi Gate. In one, a large piece of marble stone fell over the road, crushing the road divider, while in the another incident, a bundle of iron bars slipped out of a truck carrying them; rods fell over a school van. Country made liquor seized, one arrested

liquor-bottleOne person is arrested and sent to judicial custody under the charges of illegally possessing country made liquor.

Roshan Harijan, resident of Indira Nagar was arrested by Surajpol Police with 137 bottles of liquor from his residence; the accused was arrested under excise act and produced before court.

According to police, a raid was carried out after receiving information that a man, residing at Indira Nagar is possessing large quantity of country made liquor. Roshan was arrested from his house with illegal liquor.

Dead Body found near Charan Hostel

An unidentified body of a middle aged man was found at the Kejri Mata Dewra, near Charan Hostel, today afternoon at around 2:20; police has shifted the body to the mortuary, for identification.

Today morning at around 9, the students staying at the Charan Hostel, near Fatah School saw the body lying upside down on the wall of the Kejri Mata Dewra, they thought it was a drunken man lying that way in drunken state, but when they saw body again in the afternoon lying in the same posture, they doubted and went close only to find that he was a dead man.
