[Photos] Cheti Chand Procession

chetichandThousands of Sindhi community members came together for a mass procession taken out today on the occasion of Cheti Chand, organised by Baluchistan Panchayat Udaipur.

The procession started at around 11.30 am from Sanatan Mandir at Shakti Nagar after a Maha Arti earlier this morning. The procession passed through all the major circles of the city and was welcomed by the local businessmen with flowers and edible items.

Tableau of Lord Shiva and Parvati remained one of the major attractions including the Maharashtrian folk band playing drums and traditional instrument kept the feet tapping. [Read more...]

Various activities on Cheti Chand

chetichandOn the festival of Cheti Chand, several events and activities will be organized at various places in the city tomorrow.

Starting from the morning, a Maha-Arti will be organized at 9 am in Sanatan Mandir. Then at 11 am, a huge procession displaying colorful tableaux will be taken out from main areas of the city concluding at Kamlawari. The center of attraction in the rally will be the tableau of Shiv-Parvati and Kul Devi made by Shikarpur Yuva Sangathan. [Read more...]

28 Couples take vows in Mass Wedding of Sindhi Community

wedding_sindhi4In the 17th mass wedding ceremony of Sindhi Community, organised by Julelal Sewa Samiti at Vidhya Niketan School, Hiran Magri sector-4, 28 couples took wedding vows. All the newly wedded couples received blessings from Mahant Swaroop Das of Ajmer.

In this special function which is organized every year on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shiva-Ratri, around 32 varied Sindhi associations offered their service in the management of the programme and Mahant Swaroop Das from Ajmer showed up specially to bestow his blessing to the newly wed couples. Last day of league matches at Jhulelal Premier League

Last round of league matches were played today in the ongoing Annual Sindhi Community Cricket Tournament ‘Jhulelal Premier League’ at MB College ‘A’ ground.

The first match was played between Team Bhopalpura and St Hirdaram Cricket Club (SHCC) in which SHCC achieved a target of 110 runs set by Team Bhopalpura and won the match by 7 wickets. Harsh Ahuja from Bhopalpura scored the highest 23 runs from the losing side while Mohit Kamra, who was declared Man of the Match, scored a half century (54) for SHCC.

In the second match, Surrey Club defeated Bratt Club by 12 runs. Playing first, Surrey Club gave a target of 122 runs with the contribution of 25 runs by Jitesh Thakur and 18 runs by Deepak. In response, Bratt Club could only make 110 runs. Deepak also took 3 wickets was declared the Man of the Match. [Read more...]

Competitive day at Jhulelal Premier League

In the ongoing Sindhi community cricket tournament, Jhulelal Premier League, at BN College ‘A’ Ground, 3 matches were played today.

First match was played between Surrey Club and Team Bhopalpura, second match was played between Jhulelal Club and Saint Hirdaram Club while third match was played between Bratt Club and Team Jawahar Nagar.

In the first match today, Team Bhopalpura won the toss and gave a target of 130 runs. Surrey Club on the other hand could make 100 runs only and lost the match. From team Bhopalpura, Sunil Hiranandani contributed 23 runs while batting and also took 3 wickets for his team. For his contribution, Sunil was declared Man of the Match. [Read more...]

‘Jhulelal Premier League’ from 10th February

Annual Sindhi Community cricket tournament ‘Jhulelal Premier League’, organized by Shri Hirdaram Cricket Club, will commence at MB College ‘A’ Ground from Sunday, February 10.

This tournament is being organized in the memory of Saint Hirdaram. In the tournament, teams from Pratapnagar, Shaktinagar, Bhopalpura etc panchayat will participate.

The 45 days long tournament will be organized on every sunday during the months of February and March with the help of Shri Jhulelal Seva Samiti Pratapnagar, Pujya Jekababad Sindhi Panchayat, Sahil Group etc.

Sindhi Community Donates Body of a Man to Medical College

Dead body of a 42-year-old man was donated today to the RNT Medical College. The body will be used for training the medical students.

The decision was taken by the National organization of Sindhi community yesterday night, after the death of Bhagwan Das Kakumal Sindhi, resident of Neemach, M.P.

Bhagwandas was contract based labor, and according to his brother, Bhagwandas wished that his body should be used for nation after his death. [Read more...]
