Liquor worth Rs.1 Crore Seized, 4 Arrested

trucksTwo trucks carrying illegal liquor consignment were seized and four suspects arrested by Pratap Nagar Police today.

According to Police, illegal liquor seized from the Gujarat bound trucks is estimated to be around Rs. 1 Crore.

Following a tip off, Police set-up barricades at Pratap Nagar Chouraha and stopped two trucks. Upon checking, trucks were found to be loaded with Haryana made liquor.

1053 cartons were seized from one truck while 1067 cartons of liquor were found in other.

Four suspects, identified as Narayan Lal Menaria, Kanha, Ram Chand Jaat and Lala Ram, have been arrested.

Guns and Cash looted from Madri

Rs. 15,000 cash, manufactured guns and a few valuable brass items were stolen from a Gun Smiths workshop in the Madri Industrial Area on 26th April 2013.

On the night of 26th April, thieves entered the workshop of M.L.N.N. Company owned by Shyam Lal Siklikar, resident of Fatehpura and stole 3 single barrel guns, cash, a few valuable brass items and a fan from the whop.

After 4 days, when the owner was doing a stock taking, it came to be understood that there were missing items and thieves had stolen the items. A case was registered to the effect by the owner at the Pratap Nagar Police Station.

College Student arrested for alleged Rape

A college student was arrested today on charges of raping a married woman. The detention followed soon after the victim lodged a police complaint.

26-year-old Sneha (name changed), accused a B.Tech student Ravi (name changed) for allegedly raping her at his rented house at Payda. Ravi’s friend was also arrested by police.

However, student denied the allegation and accused the woman for forging a conspiracy against him by laying false accusations. [Read more...]

Police Seizes Truck with Illegal Liquor worth Rs.50 Lac

truckA truck containing Illegal liquor worth more than Rs.50 Lac was seized by the Pratapnagar Police. The action took place after the midnight of 29th April. The truck driver and spotter fled away leaving the truck.

At around 12 am last night, the police got a tip that a truck loaded with illegal liquor was coming from the Debari side. The Police immediately lodged barricades but the suspecting truck driver saw the Police and turned the truck towards Jamar Kotra. Man rescued after being kidnapped at Madri

A man, who was kidnapped earlier during the day on 21st March from Madri Industrial Area was rescued by the Police after the accused were nabbed from the Girija Vyas petrol pump.

What started as an argument over overtaking, resulted in a fight between two groups. Shambhu Singh and Surendra Singh, who operate a pick up truck and loading Tempo respectively, got into an argument on the issue of overtaking each others vehicles at Road No. 4 of Madri Industrial Area.

The argument turned hot and Surendra Singh slapped Shambhu Singh, as per the registered complaint. [Read more...]

70-year-old Woman Stabbed by another Woman

An elderly woman was stabbed by another woman today at Pratap Nagar area. The victim, 70-year-old Anjana w/o Hariram Mulchandani received injuries on her face due to the attack.

The accused woman, identified as Komal, resident of Housing Board colony is absconding since she brutally attacked Anjana when she allegedly denied giving her money. Police has also found the knife used by Komal lying outside Anjana’s residence. [Read more...]

Theft at Dhikli, Gold and silver ornaments stolen

Suspected thieves have stolen gold and silver ornaments from a house at village Dhikli last night. Around four tola gold and 1.5kg silver ornaments, including Rs.30,000 cash were stolen.

The house owner Tolaram Meghwal, who is an auto-rickshaw driver lodged complaint of the incident at Pratap Nagar police station.

The family was out last night and came to know about the theft, when they returned home today morning.

Tantrik who asked for Two Human Heads, Arrested

Police has arrested the notorious Tantrik who allegedly demanded Prahlad Meena, the accused of beheading a Savina resident few days back and his associate, to bring human skulls for his Tantra, which will also help Prahlad to attempt thefts more proficiently. Interestingly, the Tantrik, Devnath is grandfather of Prahlad.

Devnath was arrested by Police from the village Bilakh yesterday, after nearly 8 days when Prahlad and his associate Mohan Meena killed and beheaded Heeralal Gameti, resident of Navghar, Savina.

In the interrogation, Tantrik revealed that he asked Prahlad to bring two human skulls to start Tantra on them.

Prahald succeeded in arranging only one head although, he thought to kill another man he saw on road but, could not achieve.

Police team stand with Prahlad Meena, 21, accused of Heeralal’s murder

Solving one of the most complicated murder mysteries of town, Udaipur police has arrested the prime accused in Heeralal Gameti‘s murder case and have also found the missing head of the victim which was buried at a remote hillock.

The brutal murder that shocked the city was executed on the night of 2-3 February at a farm, located at Savina’s Naya Ghar area. The main accused, 21-year-old, Prahlad Meena was arrested and he has also confessed to the crime. In the interrogation, Prahlad also disclosed the place where he buried the skull of Heeralal.

Resident of Bilakh village, Prahlad with one of his friend Kishan used to commit thefts and burglaries and often spend their nights at some abandoned houses situated on the farms at Naya Ghar area.

Both used to come to Heeralal Gameti at nights but Heeralal was unaware about Prahlad and Kishan’s illegal activities. [Read more...]

Woman dies after getting Hit by Train

An unidentified woman, whose age is approximately 50-years, died after getting hit by an Udaipur-Ajmer passenger train at around 10 in the morning.

Severely injured body of the woman was found at Poll No. 102, that is located between Pratap Nagar – Debari Railway Track.

After getting information about the mishap, Pratap Nagar police reached the spot, transported the body to the mortuary and started searching for her relatives. No identity card or belongings were found from the victim.

“We have come to know that the victim woman belongs to Gameti community and lived with her daughter; we are now searching for her daughter”, said one of the police officials from Pratap Nagar.
