Total Arrested in Mulla Talai riot case goes up

Four persons were arrested last night by the Ambamata Police adding to the total arrested for the Mulla Talai communal disharmony incident that occurred on 13th April.

The four, viz. Yogesh, Kamal, Bahadur and Lokesh were arrested for beating two girls who were returning from a wedding ceremony, and injuring them. They stopped the auto in which the girls were returning home, and beat up the girls, injuring them seriously. They were booked under Section 307 of the IPC.

Further, ten more people were detained and accused of disrupting peace in the area. They were booked under Section 151 IPC.

4:00 PM: More than 7 people are detained by the police

4:45 PM: Three regiments of Mewar Bhil Corps are conducting a house-to-house search for arresting the accused in the ‘Manish assault’ case.

5:38 PM: Bherulal and Ramdas from Gandhinagar and Nikhil and Bansilal residents of OTC scheme received injuries.

5:39 PM: Another injured Shaista and Shaheena lodged complain against unknown attackers.

5:47 PM: We apologize for misstating that police is closing shops, police didn’t asked anyone to close the shops.

A group of men asked shopkeepers to shut down the shops, shops and market are running normal and peaceful.

Incidence of stone pelting has been reported from Mulla Talai area after a restaurant owner was allegedly thrashed by a group of people. A large police force has been deployed in the area to control the tense situation.

Crisis started when Vinayak Restaurant’s owner Manish alias Pintu was allegedly beaten by a group of people. Manish lodged police complaint stating that he was beaten up by nearly 50 people who also ransacked his shop and manhandled his mother.

Community people strongly condemned the attack and gathered outside Ambamata Police Station demanding the arrest of all accused within one hour. [Read more...]

Various religious and business organizations expressed sheer agitation and protest over an alleged threatening and slapping of a false police case on a person Girish Bharti, who objected on the liquor shop located at Mulla Talai area which was open even after 8 in the night which is prohibited.

On the other hand, the liquor shop owner lodged an FIR against Girish for attacking him and destroying liquor bottles at his shop last night.

UPDATE – Ashraf Ikram was caught today afternoon (15th July, 2012) from his home at Mastan Pia Colony, Malla Talai. Police was after Ashraf as Chaman Ghayri and Hamme Majid pointed him as the person who sold them pistols.

3 people are arrested by a Special Police Team formed by Police Superintendent, Hari Prasad Sharma from different areas of the city with the charges of possessing Illegal arms in the evening today.

The Special Team formed particularly for nabbing people in possession of illegal arms in the city arrested Chaman Ghayri Ghayri (32), resident of Debari; Hamme Maajid Mohommad (25), resident of Salawatwadi and Rehman Khan, resident of Gandhi Nagar, Mulla Talai from Mohta Park, Chetak; Chamanpura and Mulla Talai Circle respectively in the evening.

According to a Police Official, “Rehman was arrested from Mulla Talai Circle and was carrying an illegal pistol with 2 bullets, which he had bought from Saleem, resident of Fatehnagar at Rs. 5,500.” He further added that Saleem is a history-sheeter of Fatehnagar who was arrested a few days back with the charges of dealing in Illegal arms. City Palace Employee commits Suicide

Baghwat Singh, resident of 80 Feet road, near Mulla Talai was found dead yesterday in the evening at 7:30 after he allegedly hung himself in his house.

Singh (30), who was employed at the City Palace as a Computer operator was taken to hospital late in the evening by his brother who had been calling him all evening and later went down to Singh’s house to check if his brother was at his house. Singh’s brother, who works in Vidhya Bhawan School is a resident of Devali.

Baghwat Singh had been married for the last 10 years and his wife had gone to her maternal house at Harsh Nagar, near Rampura yesterday at the time of incident. Singh was alone at his place when he allegedly committed the suicide by hanging himself from sari.

An FIR was lodged at the Ambamata Police Station later in the evening. No suicide note has been found although it is alleged that Bhagwat singh was in depression due to not having the child.

Baghwat Singh s/o Radhey Shyam Singh, a native of Kanor, near Udaipur.

Pregnant Woman Found Dead in Well

Body of a 30-year old pregnant lady was recovered from a well in the Rampura area today morning at 10 am. The victim’s brother has accused the lady’s in-laws of killing her and throwing her body in the well.

According to the FIR lodged by Sukhlal, brother of Sajja, 30, w/o Taru Lal Kalbelia, resident of the Rampura village, his sister was allegedly beaten by her husband Taru and other members of family including Taru’s sister and sister in law.

“They thrashed my sister and then threw her inside a well near their house,” said Sukhlal in an FIR. [Read more...]

Rs.4 Lac looted from a house at 80ft Road

Gold and Silver ornaments worth lacs of rupees including some cash has been stolen from a vacant house located at 80ft road near Rim Jim Vatika. An FIR was lodged today with Ambamata Police Station by the house-owner Mohammad Ayub Sheikh who was out of the city with his family from past few days.

According to Ayub who is employed in Kuwait, the loss is estimated at around Rs.4 lac that includes 10 tola Gold, more than half kg Silver and Rs.9000 cash. It is suspected that the thieves broke into the house by making their way through the iron net installed on terrace.

Ayub Sheikh was out with his wife and children from last Sunday. “We went to Ajmer and on the way did a halt at Nathdwara and Chittorgarh to meet our relatives” said Ayub. [Read more...]

mohammad-umar-victim-shoot-outMohammad Umar s/o Altaf Hussain lodged an FIR against Harun, 28, s/o Zahur Mirasi resident of Faroq e- Azam colony, Mulatalai for allegedly firing a bullet towards him.

The complainant, Umar is a resident of Gandhi Nagar, Mullatalai and runs a travel agency. As per the FIR, the incident occured yesterday evening on 5th June. He alleged that today evening he was standing at the Mullatalai Churaha and got a call from the accused on his mobile, where the accused enquired about his whereabouts. Umar told him that he was standing near the Co-operative store at the Chauraha.

Within a few minutes the accused reached the spot with a friend on a bike and fired a shot at Umar with a revolver. When he tried to fire the second round, apparently the trigger got jammed. The first bullet had missed Umar and he jumped on the assailant and tried to wrest the gun from his hand. [Read more...]

Same Number Cars found from a 5 star Hotel

The city police have seized two cars bearing the same number plate parked in a 5 star hotel, last evening 13th April. Both the cars were being operated as private taxis by their owner. A driver has been arrested and both the cars have been taken into police custody.

According to Ambamata Police, they received information on two cars bearing the same number plate, parked at Hotel Sheraton. The police accordingly picked up two white colored Toyota Innova cars having the same number, RJ-27-TA-1143 and arrested one Rashid Khan of OTC scheme who is said to be the driver of one of the cars. Three members of a family were seriously injured when an auto rickshaw in which they were travelling, overturned near Mulla Talai today afternoon.

Hussaina Banu, 50, w/o Hussain Khan; Hasina Banu, 30, w/o Anwar Khan and Naaz Munira, 28, w/o Yunus Khan were seriously injured and rushed to MB Hospital.  Four children, all under the age of 5, were also there in the rickshaw and have sustained minor injuries. [Read more...]
