Malwiya Awarded with Rs. 1.5 Crore by PM Manmohan Singh

For the superior quality of work being done in Rajasthan in the field of Panchayati Raj, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh felicitated State Panchayati Raj Minister Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya with a cash prize of Rs. 1.5 crore and a certificate today during the 3rd Panchayati Raj Conference at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

In the conference, 75 representatives related to various Panchayati Raj organizations from the state participated.

Ajmer Municipal Corporation’s District Head Sushila Kunwar received a check worth Rs. 40 Lac while Head of Taunk Panchayat Samiti, Khemraj Meena and Head of Dausa Panchayat Samiti, Shanti Gurjar received Rs. 20 Lac each for their work.

5 other Panchayats in the state received ‘Gaurav Gram Sabha’ award and a cash prize of Rs 15. lac each.

Nationwide Strike Causes Loss, Rs. 100 crore Transactions Stuck in Udaipur Banks

Effect of nationwide strike incurred a large loss of business in Udaipur on its first day of the two–day strike; strike was supported by Trade and Labour Unions, including INTUC, BMS, ATUC and other unions, Banks, Post Offices; Industries and Transport remained out of service for the whole day, against Central Government’s sanction to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) laws in the Parliament.

In Udaipur the adverse effects of strike against FDI laws passed by Central Government included halting of 9500 Drafts and Cheques worth Rs.100 crore; whereas in Transport sector, around 416 buses of various routes to nearby villages and districts stood still.

All private and nationalised banks, along with central clearance house remained closed effecting routine banking procedures, while bank workers and officials collectively demonstrated in front of the Collectorate appealing to withdraw amendments to banking laws and privatization of sector. ‘Yuva Sansad Pratiyogita’ at SIERT on 25th-26th Feb.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of India will be organizing the State Level Yuva Sansad Pratiyogita on 25th-26th Feb. at SIERT, Udaipur; 10 schools from 7 divisions will be participating in the event.

“The training for this event was given to the schools in each of the 7 divisions, which are currently running the competition to select teams for the main event to be conducted on 25th – 26th of Feb”, informed Manohar Singh Rajput, Coordinator of the event.

The motive of this affair is to give an insight of workings of democratic ethnicity and prepare an ideal citizen, as well as provide a platform to the potential leaders of the society. [Read more...]

State Government Celebrates 4 years of Rule

4-saal-bemisaalThe Congress led Ashok Gehlot’s State Government completes 4 years tomorrow, on 13th December 2012; several programs will be organized by the State Government in every district, to celebrate the occasion.

State Government has also launched an official tag line to mark the occasion, “Chaar Saal Bemisaal”.

To celebrate the occasion, Panchayati Raj Minister Mahendra Jeet Singh Malviya will inaugurate an exhibition called “Vikas Pradershani” at the Information Center near Akashwani road at 10:30 in the morning tomorrow.

Post the inauguration; the celebration will be organized at Bhandari Darshak Mandap in which the chief guest will be Mahendra Jeet Singh Malviya (Panchayati Raj and Gramin Vikas Minister). Relief for “No Construction Zone” affected People; State Government agreed to move SLP

In what can safely be taken as a temporary relief,  hundreds of houses have been spared from the unrelenting claws of JCB’s and Bulldozers of the UIT and Nagar Parishad, as the High Court had earlier ordered these administrative bodies to demolish all illegal constructions in the “No Construction Zone”.  At a top brass meeting held today in Jaipur, it was decided to give temporary relief to the potentially affected people, of the High Court’s order.

The News came today in the late evening hours, when after the meeting with the UDF Secretary G.S. Sandhu,  at Jaipur Secretariat, Rameshwar Prasad Sharma, Secretary of the UIT  informed that the State Government has agreed to move SLP (Special Leave Petition) against the orders after hearing the information provided by the administrative officials to the UDF Secretary.

Rajni Dangi and UIT Secretary informed G.S. Sandhu that after the implementation of the orders of demolition there could be public annoyance and law and order of the city will be disturbed, on the other hand more than 1.5 lac people are affected by this order, Udaipur is a city that is build around the lakes and we can’t demolish all the houses adjoining lakes therefore State Government should move SLP against the orders.       [Read more...]

Govt starts survey to find out disabled family members

To ensure that benefits of Government scheme for “specially-able” person reach out to the right people, a door-to-door survey was started from today.

Informing about the survey, Mandata Singh Ranawat, Deputy Director Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Udaipur informed in a meeting at Sukhadia Rangmanch that by December, they are targeting to list all physically challenged persons from each house.

Singh told that persons affected with blindness, low-vision, leprosy-cured, Hearing impairment, locomotors disability, mental retardation, mental illness will be benefited. Various benefits for these people include pension program for the disabled, self employment program, provision for artificial organs, provision of motorized wheel chairs, resettlement of the mentally disabled, old age homes, residential hostel facilities for the disabled, schools for the disabled and many other beneficiary planning. Central Coal Minister Arrives at Udaipur

Shri Prakash Jaiswal, the Central Coal Minister, arrived at Udaipur today to attend the oath taking ceremony of Prakash Choudhary who became the National President of the “Akhil Bhartiya Jaiswal (Sarvargiya ) Mahasabha”.

Government Employees: Clear out the Discordance of 6th Pay Commission

The all Rajasthan State Government Employees Coordination Committee laid a demonstration (dharna) in front of Udaipur District Collector’s office and insisted to resolve their issues.

The protestors consisted of many groups associated with the committee including Teachers Association, Patwar Association, Handpump and Drill Mechanic Association, etc. handed over a letter enclosed with a list consisting of several of their demands.

Mansingh Chundawat, District Coordinator insisted that the administration hold a state level meeting with leaders of all employees and takes a conclusive decision in the betterment of all. [Read more...]

Pranab Mukharjee to take charge as President of India

Pranab Mukhrjee was elected as the 13th President of India today.  The former Finance Minister, Pranab Mukhrjee got support from 527 out of the total 748 MPs.

Mukharjee’s rival for the position, P.A. Sangma secured 206 in his favor.  Pranab will be given the oath of office by the Chief Justice of India on 25th July, 2012 at 11.30 AM.

On his previous visit to Udaipur at MLSU, Udaipur; Dr. Kamal Singh Rathore, Assosiate Professor, BNIPS drew a well-appreciated caricature of Pranab Mukhrjee himself. The sketch was admired by Mukharjee too and he gave his autograph on the sketch.
