Auto-rickshaw hit by Car injures Students

An auto-rickshaw carrying school children was hit by a car today morning at 8 am; the accident took place at Fatehpura circle. Rickshaw driver received head injuries, while few of the students got minor injuries and were discharged from hospital after getting initial treatment.

According to the rickshaw driver Bhagvati Lal, he was on his way to drop the students at St Mary’s School, while passing through Fatehpura Circle a fast coming Innova car allegedly hit the rickshaw and fled.

According to sources, 4-5 girls received minor injuries, while Bhagvati Lal got head injury. Ambamata Police responded at the scene and took all injured to the hospital and lodged the case against car driver.

19-year-old boy Commits Suicide

A young boy committed suicide by hanging himself on the terrace of his house located at Siphon Colony, near Fatehpura, last night of 19 Oct. The case has been lodged by police and the body was shifted to mortuary for postmortem. No suicide note is found near the body of the victim, Sandeep Lal Sharma (19).

Sandeep, s/o Kanhaiya Lal was resident of House No.12 Siphon Colony; he was residing along with his father Kanhaiya Lal in a rented house owned by Himmat Singh Mehta.

According to the police, Sandeep reached home at around 8.30 pm last night and was said to be in a bad mood, he directly moved inside his room without taking his meal. At around 12.15am, his father woke up and found that Sandeep was not there in his room, while searching for him, his father went up to the terrace and found his son hanging from the iron hook.

Kanhiya Lal immediately called his elder son Arvind who stays at another place, Arvind rushed to his father’s house took Sandeep to M.B. hospital in 108-Ambulance service where the hospital authority declared him dead.

After postmortem the body was handed over to the family members.

Rs. 75000 Theft at Fatehpura

A theft was reported at Fatehpura Police Chowki today evening, where the thieves looted asset and cash worth Rs. 75,000 from a house in Diamond Complex, Fathehpura.

In the words of the victim, Hatim Ali Sadriwala, House Owner – The family members went to Masjid for Namaz between 7 – 9.30PM. On returning, they discovered the gate of 3rd floor of their 3 storey house was broken.

They reported one 42’ LCD TV worth Rs. 50,000 and cash Rs. 25,000 stolen and informed Fathehpura Chowki. [Read more...]

Lady Patient files case against Doctor

Not even a whole day has passed since the ‘Doctors beating Media personals and Patient’s Relative’ and yet another case against a doctor has been registered at the Ambamata Police Station who is alleged to have mistreated a female patient today.

Dr. T.C. Bhandari, Triveni Hospital, is accused of mistreating Hemlata Dangi, a resident of Loyra who went to the hospital for a headache and tonsils problem.

Although, according to the Dr. Bandari, Hemlata Dangi was complaining about a stomachache. He said, “She (Dangi) came to the hospital complaining about stomach ache, and I did the usual checkup for around 4 minutes, prescribed the medicine and then she left”. [Read more...]

Theft worth Rs 5 Lac at Fatehpura

A case of theft was registered at the Ambamata Police Station that happened in the Hitawala Ki Bari, Fatehpura today.

The 12th such case in the recent past, the thieves stole 10 tola of Gold Ornaments, Rs. 1 Lac cash and 3000 Dirham (Approx. Rs 45 Thousand) from Saifudin Gura’s house.  [Read more...]

Burglary Attempt Foiled at Siphon; 1 Arrested

An attempted house burglary was foiled last night when the house owner and his family members suddenly arrived while the thieves were ransacking the house. The house owned by Navratan Kothari is situated at Siphon Colony, Fatehpura.

One member of the gang, a 14 year old, was caught with the help of neighbors when he jumped from the terrace of the house and got injured in the process. The other members (exact no. not known) managed to escape the scene. The teenaged thief has been handed over to Ambamata Police. [Read more...]

Post Graduate Student dies of Electrocution

The death of Aamod Joshi, a 23 year old student of the PGDM program at Advent College, Badi, Udaipur, has sent shock waves across the institute and friends, family, and well-wishers in the city.

While talking on his mobile he ventured out into the balcony, outside which a high voltage wire was passing.  Not seeing the wire, the boy touched the wire and was electrocuted.  The shock resulted in his body crashing back into the balcony floor, where he got seriously injured on the head.

While unconscious and profusely bleeding, he was rushed to Lake City hospital, where in turn he was referred to GBH American Hospital.  Aamod succumbed to his injuries and the electrocution yesterday evening soon after being admitted to the hospital. [Read more...]

Techno Blast ’12 at Polytechnic College

Chain Snatching rampant, another victim at Kharol Colony

In another incident of chain snatching, Prem Lata, a resident of Kharol Colony was attacked by a chain snatcher today afternoon.

The incident occured when Prem Lata, 55, w/o Poonam Chan Tak was returning from the market near her home in Kharol Colony, when a biker came in from behind her and attempted to snatch the jewelry on her neck. Though the gold chain snapped and fell on the road, another artificial chain was pulled out.

A complain has been lodged at the Ambatamata police station.

Truck smashes into Tree, no casualties though

A fully loaded truck rammed into a tree located opposite the Vidya Bhavan School this afternoon. The tree located on the turn from Fatehpura-Devali Road towards Kharol Colong complete came down due to the intensity of crash. However, there were no casualties reported from the site.

According to sources, a truck loaded with soil and stones, coming from Badi allegedly lost control and collided with the tree situated at the center of the kharol colony road. The accident was so strong that the truck partially ran over a decades old tree, bringing it to ground. [Read more...]
