Rajasthan Bandh: Engineering Exams will continue as per Schedule

Following the Statewide strike led by BJP on 18th May, Engineering Management and College Society of Udaipur has appealed police administration to uphold transport services for students as exams of B.Tech, MBA and MCA are going on in all the colleges affiliated with RTU (Rajasthan Technical University).

Exams will be continuing as per the schedule and transport services like college bus will be available for students, said Piyush Jhaveria of Techno NJR Institute of Technology and Engineering. [Read more...]

Science Fair at Sunrise Institute

A science fair was organized at Faculty of Engineering, Sunrise Group of Institution. Engineering students of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Chemical Engineering branches showcased exciting engineering models during the fair.

Students made replica of college building, rain water harvesting system, street light with LDR censor, fire alarm, instrument to calculate water level, refrigerator through waste products etc. They also showcased how to keep water cool during high temperature.

Gazanfar Ali, Principal of the college said that, “we will keep on organizing such events to develop the skills of students.”

Conference on Engineering with Environment Development begins

A two-day National Conference on ‘Integration of Engineering with Environment Development and Sustainability’ is being organised under the banner of Faculty of Engineering, Pacific University.  Around 40 research papers on technological advancements were read by various experts today.

Today, on the first day of the National Conference R. N. Mathur, MD of BSNL, while addressing the audience in the first session of the day mentioned that telecom sector of Udaipur has done a remarkable job by connecting non-commercial consumers through Optical Fibre Technology. 28th National Convention of Architectural Engineers start at the local chapter

Udaipur Local Centre of the Institution of Architectural Engineers started a two day 28th National Convention of Architectural Engineers on the theme ‘Economic Architectural Designs: Challenges and Options’ today.

R. P. Gupta, Past President of The Institution of Engineers (India) graced the occasion as Chief Guest. N. K. Saini, Additional Chief Engineer, PWD, Udaipur, Govt. of Rajasthan addressed the gathering as Guest-of-Honour and focused on the importance of architectural development in the societal reforms.

The Chief Guest highlighted about the innovative technologies in the area of architectural designs for building developmental works. Engineers Day: Engineers urged to Work on ‘Technology compatible with Nature’

The Local Center of Institution of Engineers (India) celebrated Engineers Day today in the seminar hall of the Institution at Hiran Magri, Sector 11.  The event also included a seminar on the topic – Appropriate Climate Responsive Technologies for Inclusive Growth & Sustainable Development.

Dr. Y.S. Bhatt, President did the welcoming of guests and presented a draft on the activities of The Institution of Engineers (India).  E. N. Bansal then spoke on the life of Sir M. Visveshwarya.

Kishor Sant, Chief-Spokesperson addressed the guests and said, “The Global Warming is the main environmental factor that we have to solve. It is mainly the result of our ignorance and we are the ones who should seek solution for it”.

Sunrise Group of Institutions celebrated Engineering Day at their campus today. As part of the celebrations, they organized various competitions like technical quiz, technical rangoli, poster designing, etc.

All the students of the institute participated with full enthusiasm. Prof. ML Kalra, MD, Sunrise Group of Institutions welcomed the Chief Guests by presenting them with bouquets.

Chief Guest of the occasion Vinod Kumbhat, Vice President, Chamber of Commerce addressed the students about the ways of being successful in life.

Polytechnic students visit J.K. Lakshmi Cement Plant, Sirohi

Civil Engineering students of Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic College successfully completed their visit & study of the J.K. Lakshmi Cement Plant, Sirohi.

Students studied various processes of manufacturing from mining of raw material to cement packing under the leadership of Chandresh Arora, Dean of Polytechnic College and Jitendra Parihar, Technical deputy manager, J.K. Cement.

Umesh Chandra Gautam, Manager of the cement plant explained the human resource management in cement units and Sachin Paneri gave a briefing on manufacturing process.

Students also studied the computerized controlling of entire process and the quality testing process post cement manufacturing.

Udaipur’s 13-year-old Slumdog Engineer

rauf-udaipurThis Willy lookalike model Jeep is meticulously crafted by applying minute details, customization, paint, electric supply, etc excluding the engine, which is apparently justified since the architect is a 13-year old designer Abdul Rauf who is partially deaf and cannot speak properly.

More surprising is that every small and big part/accessory used in this shining motor vehicle is from waste items collected by Rauf and then assembled accordingly. From the cutting of a scrap metallic sheet and moulding it to the shape of a jeep, to joining all the electric wires, Rauf has made everything on his own, except the color, which was painted by his elder brother Riyaz.

Abdul Rauf who lives in a frail mud house located in the narrow lanes of Chittora Ka Timba near Jatwadi is no less than an exceptionally talented child with an extraordinary ability of observing anything that attracts him and then craft it in his own way. [Read more...]
