Mahesh Waghmare is a professional bodybuilder based in Udaipur, he is also a fitness trainer and a wholesaler of protein supplements, Mahesh don’t have any higher educational qualifications, he can even hardly read and understand the content and nutritious facts written on supplement bottles but he challenges any qualified nutritionist or fitness trainer to prove him wrong.

He used his own body to experiment the supplements, its quantity and quality. He knows every small and big detail of work-out techniques, posture, fitness and bodybuilding ethics.

He has a collection 10,000 magazines and books of bodybuilding, almost all in English which he translates with the help of her daughter who’s studying engineering.

Mahesh won several medals in bodybuilding including Mr. Indore (1981-85), Mr. Malwa (1986), Gold Medal in Banswara (2007), Pratapgarh (2008) and Chittor (2009), Silver Medal in North India level (2009), Mr. Rajasthan in Pratapgarh (2010), Opted for Mr. India Federation Cup 2010 in Varanasi and represented Rajasthan, he won 5^th place and National level silver medal in Bhopal 2011.

His steeled muscles, sturdy facial expression and jagged eyes keep away even the most mischievous elements from him but very few people knows that he never even raised his voice to anyone in his life. [Read more...]

Health For All: Penguin Health Club

Continuing the review series of Gym and Fitness centers in the Udaipur, this week I went to see Penguin Health Club, it is in the basement of Hotel India International, 63 SardarPura. Penguin is owned by Mr. Praveen Jain who is running it from past 9 years.

Penguin Gym is dedicated to an exceptional class of people with some exceptional needs. Till now, I have reviewed many good gyms and health clubs of Udaipur but what makes Penguin special is their extra care for people suffering from different muscular, heart and orthopedic disorders like back pain, slip disck, blood pressure, obesity and joint pain etc.

The main reason of this gym being liked by most of the people in the city is their wide ranges of training facilities and health benefits available here. Cardio Vascular Training, Strength/Resistance Training, Personal Training, Swimming Pool, Spa, Massages, Temporary Lockers, Juice & Nutrition Bar and Sauna Bath which relieves joints pain to a greater extent.

Penguin also offers group exercises like Aerobics, Spinning and Power Yoga all under one roof. Power yoga is an aggressive form of yoga performed in high temperature for faster weight and inch loss with gain of stamina, strength and flexibility. The room designed for aerobics and yoga has a floor which absorbs shocks and jerks thus reducing risk of injury to muscles and participants feel less tired.

This gym has two unique facilities i.e. Core Conditioning and Slimming Gallery. Core Conditioning focuses on development and strengthening of those muscles which are always used by body like shoulders, abdominal muscles expand and contract whenever we breathe in and breathe out; pelvic floor muscles are used while sitting. This group of muscles supports the structure of body and transfers gravity.

Slimming Gallery is an electric modality with controlled current transfer by carbon pad in most fat deposited site. This helps in mobilization of fat from the deposited site. Fat is used as energy. It is like a boon for people who are severely obese, affected by physical limitations or having excessive fat at a particular part of the body.

Mr. Mahesh Waghmare holds experience of 13 years and won Silver Medal in North India Body Building Championship, he is winning Gold Medal consecutively from past three years in state championships and is 4^th ranker on national level.

Mr. Vinod Dadheech is an aerobic trainer with experience of 11 years he is also a national level swimmer.

Mr. Chirag has an experience of 9 years.

Mr. Lalit won Gold Medal in 2007-2008 City Body Building Championship, weight group of 0-56 Kg.

Mr. Imran is a certified Aerobic Trainer.

Mr. Amit has 5000+ hours experience of personal training.

Mr. Prem, Mr. Imroz, Mr. Javed and Mr. Irfan are certified from Gold Gym University and have 4-5 years experience.

Mr Sharad has 3 years experience and Mr. Vinod and Mr. Raghuveer carry 2 years experience.

The Yoga instructor Abhinandan Shukla has P.G. Diploma form M.L.S.U., B.Ped., M.Ped. and has applied for Phd., he has an experience of 5 years.

Ms. Shivani Jain has done M.Sc. in Dietetics and Nutrition Sports. She has experience of 2 years she is also responsible for fitness evaluation and fitness testing.

Last but not the least is Dr. Zafar Khan Consultant Physiotherapist he has completed BPTH from S.M.U., TIAF Mumbai, CMTH Germany and MSc. Anatomy Applied. He is working in fitness industry from past three years and has an over all experience of nine years.
