Trail Blazer organized a day-long trekking event at the Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary. A group of like-minded people motivated by Jai Singh, an enthusiastic organiser and trekker hit the Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary trekking trail on Sunday, 18th December 2011.
The primary aim was to bring people close to the ecosystem in which they live and to make them aware about the importance of the flora and fauna.
They were also educated on how gradually the forests were being eradicated and what should be done to protect them.
The 5 kilometres trek resumed at Chanda Ji ka Guda via Rakeshwar Mahadev, Jhumar Bavdi and back to Chanda Ji ka Guda.
Mr. Badari Singh, the forest guard escorted the group and the participants were shown the pugmarks of cheetal, hare and peacock. Trekkers also had the opportunity of spotting birds like parakeets, Indian grey hornbill, tree pie, woodpecker, etc.
This group was connected through an event placed on Jai’s facebook account and personal calls. The majority of enthusiasts were ex-students of The Study School. The oldest participant was Dr Harish Joshi (63 years) and the youngest were Abbas and Garvit (15 years).
