There were moments of extreme joy and excitement when 90 students of the 1987 batch from St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School, Udaipur met after many years in alumni meet held today at St. Paul’s school campus.
2012, The Silver Jubilee Year of 87’ batch mates was celebrated by hosting various exciting events, which started from early in the morning today amidst splendid music played by the Army Band, closely followed by a group photo session with the teachers.
The Alumni then addressed the current batch of students and the day culminated after a round of sport and game activities between alumni and current students of the school.
A sculptor by profession, ex-student Bhupesh Kavdia presented beautiful pieces of stone sculptors to the school authorities in the remembrance of 1987 batch.
Various senior teachers of the school who had taught the 1987 batch were also present at the function. Teachers Maggi D’ Souza, Dharam Singh, Abdul Rashid, S.S Dak, K. Babu, Bridget D’ Souza, Mrs. Veena, Mrs. Garg and Father Thomas Remigius, Principal and Bishop Joseph Pathalil were also present in the event.
According to Dr. Deepak Babel, the batch has the highest number of doctors, “I believe that our batch has more doctors than any other batch, with nearly 16 doctors in this batch”. Sharing his past experience as a student of St Paul’s, Dr. Babel said, “At that time our principal was Father Avitho Cutinho and our school timings were from 8 am to 5 pm. The current school building was constructed while we were in school and we feel proud of what it is today; we are part of this huge legacy.”
Businessman Aftab Kathawala said, “We were more than 100 from this batch, but some of us could not come today, while a few sadly passed away.”
