“We need to strengthen the roots of the club in order to enter the next century of the Rotary service, which can only be done through service projects”, said Ashish Desai, Governor, Rotary District 3050 while addressing the Rotary Club Corporate function yesterday .
Desai said, “Rotary’s true public image will be formed only by servicing projects and not just by putting up large hoardings. Rotary has so far spent Rs. 7000 crore on Polio and will carry pursuit on till the world becomes polio free.” Assistant Governor, Swarna Garg also addressed the function.
“To stop the loss by Chemical farming the farmers of nearby villages will be trained for Chemical-free farming by the club”, said Sourabh Singh, Club President. “The project has been started from the Vikarni village of Dabok area. Also, a water purification plant for school children will be setup with the help of Rotary District 3050 in the nearby Bamaniya village”, added Singh.
Secretary Varsha Purohit said, “Children of the same school were provided shoes and socks by the Governor. In the month of September a medical camp will be organized in Bamaniya and adjoining villages. The camp will also have minor surgical operation facility.”
The President, Secretary and the newly elected board were also sworn in and handed over the charge by Governor Ashish Desai. Club formed an event group in the Delhi Public School, including the members of the group, nine new members were also sworn in.
