A quarrel between resident doctors and attendants of a patient once again aroused the atmosphere at the premises of Maharana Bhupal Hospital, Udaipur today evening at 9.15 PM.
According to eye-witness sources, a patient named Ranjit Singh (22), who was injured in an accident, was brought to MB Hospital along with his attendants.
Resident Doctor on shift started the procedure of medical check-up, but after a while, one of the attendants got impatient and started quarreling and threatening the doctor to do the procedure swiftly.
Doctor left the procedure and asked the attendants to leave along with the patient. In the argument, about staying or moving to another facility, patient fell off the stretcher, which in turn intensified the argument.
Later, when the patient was leaving the MB Hospital premises along with the attendants, Resident Doctors allegedly called one of patient’s attendant, took him inside and scuffled with him. After a while, attendants ran off with the patient to another facility.
Dr. D. P. Singh, Superintendent, MB Hospital and Dr. S. K. Kaushik, Principal, RNT Medical College reached the scene and so does the Hathipol Police Station team.
Resident Doctors have declared a temporary ‘pen-down’ till they meet Dr. D. P. Singh and Dr. S. K. Kaushik to discuss the issue.
For now, a Police Team has been placed in the MB Hospital premises to prevent further troubles in this issue.
