sketches of suspected attackers
Sketches of the three suspects who allegedly attacked BJP leader Motilal Dangi on June 15 were released today by Udaipur police.
According to police, the suspects are believed to be professional shooters and hired by Udaipur based criminals for property related dispute with Motilal Dangi.
The sketches were made by a Chandigarh based sketch artist. The sketches show the suspects to be aged between 20-30 years. As per the information given by Police officer, Madan Gehlot of Bhupalpura Police, the goons were probably hired from nearby states including Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
“We are sending these sketches to our counter parts in all the states where we believe the suspects could be presently hiding. We are also looking at nearby areas of Chittorgarh and Pratapgarh” said Madan Gehlot.
The police are suspecting that Udaipur based history-sheeters Azam and Ayub Shah could have masterminded the crime. As per the information, Police raided Azam’s house at Mukherjee Chowk last night but could not find him.
It has been confirmed by sources that the attack on Dangi was a result of a dispute over a 7 Bigha land at Mali Colony near Sikh Colony which was sold off for Rs.1.45 Crore.
Motilal Dangi was attacked on Friday 15 June when few people tried to shoot him while he was going in his car. 2 bullets were fired on Dangi but fortunately he escaped unhurt.
Interestingly, the sketches bear a close resemblance to the suspects of an advocate’s murder that occurred in Pratapgarh 2 years back.
