A meeting of the top police officials of Gujarat and Rajasthan was held in Udaipur at the conference hall of Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Ltd. The agenda of meeting concentrated on controlling cross border crimes, issues like child labor, drug supply and wanted criminals were discussed by IGs and SPs of the border sharing districts from both the states.
Officials solicited each other’s cooperation to stop all such crimes and exchanged information.
On the occasion, Shamsher Singh, I.G., Gandhinagar range and TC Damor, I.G., Udaipur range exchanged useful information including the list of wanted criminals in both the states. “This will help in reducing and restricting the illegal acts like child labor, smuggling of cows, illegal liquor transportation and drug supply”, said I.G. Damor.
I.G. Damor further added, “District SP and other police officials from the neighbor state of Gujarat shared valuable information with us. Rajasthan handed over the list of 550 wanted criminals in Rajasthan, while, Gujarat officials gave a list of 450 wanted criminals.
Check posts are decided for both the state borders for the prevention of crime. And it is agreed that, the police officials of both the states will work in cooperation on those check points. For effective governance of these check points the SPs from border districts of both the states will keep a vigil.”
Shamsher Singh, I.G., Gandhinagar range said, “Rajasthan officials has handed over a list of 118 most wanted criminals who are also wanted in Gujarat, whereas Gujarat has handed over a list of 93 common criminals. Together, we have taken necessary steps in the past for the prevention of smuggling illegal liquor, cows as well as for decantation of the non-claimed vehicles in police stations.”
