One of the most auspicious days of Maha Shiv Ratri was celebrated with an utmost bliss and devotion.
In Udaipur, Gupteshwar Mahadev, Mahakaal, Hazaareshshwar Mahadev, Neelkanth Mahadev, Fateshwar Mahadev and other Shiv temples were fully occupied with devotees and their loud chants of ‘Om Namah Shivay’ and ‘Har Har Bhole’.
The ‘pooja and abhishek’ was observed to be majorly in a four segments. First being the chanting of ‘Shodshopachaar Mantra’ and ‘abhishek’ with sugarcane syrup; Secondly, the ‘pooja’ followed by ‘abhishek’ with curd; Thirdly, the ‘pooja’ and then ‘abhishek’ with milk; and at last the ‘pooja’. Finalizing the segment, ‘aarti’ was observed.
Many groups were observed to cover the distance from Udaipur to Ekling Ji by foot. And then after the long struggle in queue they finally got to get the glimpse of ‘Mahadev’.
