The people of Udaipur witnessed yet again the colossal grandeur of the massive rally of the Jagannath Rath Yatra 2012.
An annual event, and with displays from 40 different societies, this year the Yatra started from Jagdish Mandir, where the holy idol of Lord Jagannath was placed on a 20 ft. long gold-plated Rath (carriage) carried by the Rath Samiti, Udaipur and moved on to Gantaghar, Mochiwada, Santoshi Mata Mandir, Dhan Mandi, Asthal Mandir and concluded at Jagdish Chowk.
The heavily secured Yatra route had been under preparation from the last twenty days. Barefoot devotees dressed in traditional Mewari costumes pulled the Yatra Rath.
H.H Mahendra Singh Mewar, Rajni Dangi, Chairperson, UMC and other dignitaries were also present during the procession which passed through the entire city.
With holy dedication, followers from the entire city attended the Yatra with great enthusiasm.
