Husband of Local Corporator passes away

Luqman Ali s/o Sajjad Hussain Fatehnagarwala passed away at 6 am today morning. He was 59 years old and suffering from Jaundice.

A resident of Kharol Colony, Luqman Ali was the husband of Nafisa Saif, Corporator (Parshad), ward no 54.

Luqman Ali was a businessman in Kuwait and had been doing business there for the last 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter.

Dr. Iqbal Hussain s/o Abdul Rehman ( retired professor and Associate Director of Research at MPUAT) passed away last night of 24th May at his residence at Mulla Talai. 65-year-old Dr. Hussain was ill from last several months. The condolence meeting will be held at their residence at 454/455 Farooqkh Azam Colony, Mulla Talai after 10:30am today.

Businessman Praful Mehta Passed Away

Renowned businessman and Director of Drillcon (Rajasthan) Pvt Ltd, Praful Mehta, died last night in Kota. It is speculated that he died of heart attack last night in the hotel where he was staying.

Praful Mehta is a famous Businessman and the son of freedom fighter late Hukumraj Mehta.

His company Drillcon deals in maintenance and supply of spare parts to Construction Material Handling Equipment. The company is based in Udaipur and has a branch office in Jaipur.

Haji Mushtaq Hussain Qader Rasiyajiwala, s/o Late Ismail Ali Ji Qader Rasiyajiwala, departed for his heavenly abode on 30th March 2013. He was keeping unwell for quite some time.

Aged 82 years, Haji Mushtaq Hussain retired as a Tehsildar and Office Superintendent from the Udaipur Collectorate in the year 1991.

Having started his career in the Elections department, he was instrumental in conducting plenty of elections at the Lok Sabha, state legislature, city, Panchayat and community level. [..]

Udaipur commemorates Martyr Prakash Khatik

On the Martyr’s Day today, Shaheed Prakash Khatik Samaroh Samiti remembered Martyrs Prakash Khatik and Sohanlal Regar who were killed in an attack on police van near Bijoliya in April 2011.

Organization members, along with general public, gathered at Shaheed Prakash Khatik Chouraha and commemorated all the Martyrs who laid their lives for the nation.

Body of Late Sangram Singh Hiran Donated to Medical College

Udaipur’s Rabindra Nath Tagore Medical College has received a body of an 89-year-old citizen, Sangram Singh Hiran (in photo above) of Udaipur, who passed away yesterday on 21 Jan. and wished his body to be donated for medical purposes, four years back.

Acting on the aspiration of their beloved father, sons of Sangram Singh, Deepak Hiran and Dr. Subodh Hiran, donated the body to medical college today.

Late Sangram Singh Hiran was retired from Indian Forest Services and served as an active social worker to various organizations, including Jawahar Jain School, Mahaveer International, Oswal Samaj etc.

Sangram Singh left for heavenly abode yesterday due to natural reasons; he is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter, 4 grandsons and one great grandson. [..]

Father Sebastian of St. Paul’s School Passes Away

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Puthuparambil, 1939-2012, ex-principal of St Paul’s Senior Secondary School Udaipur passed away at the age of 73, on 14th December, 2012.

One of the earliest principal of St Paul’s for the period 1987-89 had served various branches of the school in other districts of Rajasthan, later was appointed as In-charge of Prerna Printing Press of St Paul’s.

Fr. Sebastian was in Udaipur for the past 6 years due to age sickness and other health issues. He was hospitalized on 9th December on occurrence of major heart problem and thereafter on 14th December at around 2:30 pm Fr. Sebastian passed away.

Today, a condolence meet and Mass was conducted in remembrance of departed soul at Our Lady of Fatima Cathedral, followed by a funeral procession for burial at Debari.

I. K. Gujral Passes Away

Former Prime Minister of India, Inder Kumar Gujral passed away in Delhi on Friday at Gurgaon’s Medicity Medanta Hospital. He was 92 years old.

Gujral had been admitted to the hospital a few days ago following a lung infection and was on ventilator support.

He was born on Dec 4, 1919 in the town of Jhelum, now in Pakistan. In April 1997, he became India’s 12th Prime Minister and remained on the coveted chair till March 1998. Other than this, he handled many important portfolios in the government during his illustrious career.

Gujral was a soft-spoken politician who will be remembered primarily for his keen interest in protecting and promoting India’s external interests.
