ABVP calls for Bandh, protest outside collectorate

Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) called for All India ‘bandh’ for all Universities and colleges today, against the alleged corruption by Central Government and its involvement in various scams.

Udaipur wing of ABVP tried to stall colleges in Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, however overall bandh remained ineffective as police and administration did not allow students to carry out their objective.

Bandh was led by Pankaj Borana, Student Union President, Gaurav Lodha, Mahanagar Mantri and Hiren Patel, National Executive Member of ABVP.  [..]

Protests continue at JRNVU, no outcome after talks

Protests by Employees of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University (JRNVU) and Kul Worker’s Association against the inaction of administration on their demands and for the dismissal of Kul Pramakuh, Praful Naagar from his post continued on Tuesday also.

Employees on hunger strike and fast-unto-death continued with their protests, after talks with the administration could not conclude and decision could not be taken on the memorandum.

Treasury of Association, Bhagwati Lal Soni informed, “If there is no outcome tomorrow also, then the memorandum will be submitted to the district collector”. [..]

BN Girls Rock at Fresher’s and Farewell Party

Bhupal Nobles Post Graduation College (Girls) of BCA branch had their Freshers-cum-Farewell party organized today, by the Department of Computers.

The party which started at 4 PM stretched till 7.30 PM where the doze of cultural and western performances took the crowd off their feet.

Udaipur Mortuary needs a makeover

Taking immediate action, Dr. D. P. Singh ordered to fix two exhaust fans which were not working from last more than a year, there are two freezers to keep dead bodies, but one of the freezers was ruined due to non-maintenance.

Udaipur mortuary at M.B Hospital compound is known as one of the biggest mortuaries in Udaipur region, yet due to lack of proper maintenance the condition of mortuary was going terrible.

According to sources, sufficient amount of water is needed after every biopsy but employees of mortuary seldom take pain of carrying water from outside.

Unidentified Bodies need to be kept in freezers, however one out of two freezers was not working from more than a year. [..]

Under 19 Football Championship nears conclusion

The third day of 57th District Under 19 Football Championship which is being organized by Dhikli Sr. Sec. School, Dhikli Village, was held at BN School Ground today.

26 schools from Udaipur District are participating in this title run, which started from 2nd Sept 2012.

Udaipur Traffic Police gets severe on offenders

Udaipur Traffic Police in the routine procedure today at Shastri Circle, strictly checked out various irregularities in the traffic.

“People who drink and drive, having tinted mirrors on cars, auto rickshaws and buses, without papers and permits were checked and fined. We are strict enough to not exempt any of the traffic violators” said Hemant Kohli, S. I., Traffic.

Inter School Roller-skating Championship starts at CPS

10th Inter School Roller-skating Championship 2012 was organized today, by Shree Ram Skating Club at CPS school, 285 students from 21 schools participated in 500m heat for selection in finals.

Before the start of championship, students of all the schools performed a march past and took oath to play fairly and show sportsmanship after which Director of CPS, Alka Sharma declared the opening of championship.

1 Girl and 1 Boy winner of the event will be awarded a BSA Hercules Cycle sponsored by BSA and Punjab Cycles, Bapu Bazaar.

In under-4 age group Boy’s event, top three positions were acquired by Kratagya from DPS, Kalp Boliya from CPS and Virat Singh from Rockwoods respectively, while in under-10 age group Girl’s event, top three positions were acquired by Mihika Rawat from DPS, Akanksha Rajpal from St. Mary’s and Gauravi Rathore from Rockwoods respectively, informed Neelima Arya, Coordinator of the event, Shree Ram Skating club.

The event had to be completed today, however due to rains, part of the program was postponed till tomorrow. [..]

Passenger vehicle rolls over, several injured

2 critically injured, out of several passengers hurt, when a vehicle ferrying passenger rolled over at Kaya village. The vehicle was heading from Udaipur to Parsad, carrying 12 passengers.

Chatar Singh 19, and Ashok Meena 20, have been admitted in MB Hospital with serious injuries while other passengers were relieved after first aid.

According to sources, a taxi vehicle going to Parsad from Udaipur apparently lost control while taking sharp turn near Kaya Village. The speeding vehicle turned upside down. The injured were rushed to hospital by Goverdhan Vilas Police and the case is registered.

Man Robbed by stranger friend

A young man resident of sector-5 has lodged FIR after, allegedly being cheated and robbed by a man, who acted to be a tourist and became friendlier before taking away a 2 tola gold chain from victim on 3rd Sept.

Beni Subhash lodged complaint with Ambamata Police Station today against a person who introduced himself as Sanam Yusuf Jariwala and met him three days ago at Gulab Bagh.

According to FIR, Yusuf asked Subhash to tour him around Udaipur as he is new to the place, Subhash agreed to his request and took him to several places in past 3 days.

Yesterday, Yusuf called Subhash and asked him to come at a salon near Sukhadia Circle for facial, when Subhash was sitting at salon chair, he was asked to remove his gold chain by Yusuf.

“He asked me to give my gold chain as it was uncomfortable while doing massage and facial, I gave him but he took the chain and went out of salon which raised doubts in my mind, my doubts clarified when he didn’t return”, says Subhash in the FIR.

Police is searching the accused as per the physical description given by Subhash, according to police the accused is middle aged and partially bald, wearing white t-shirt and shorts.

College Student Commits suicide

Hitesh Kumawat, 21, resident of Ganpati Vihar, Pula, committed suicide by hanging himself from ceiling fan in his room.

The incident came to notice today afternoon, when after returning back from college Hitesh went inside his room and later, when he didn’t respond to banging of door, his family members forced themselves inside his room and found him hanging from ceiling fan.

Hitesh was student of MB College and also used to do a part-time job in a private company. He was the eldest of one brother and a sister.

According to Ambamata Police, no suicide note is found from his room. Hitesh’s family is also unknown regarding any stress the victim was going through, which led him to take such step. The body is kept in mortuary for postmortem.
