Lakecity’s Junior Boxer enters into Semis of National Tournament

Suraj Soni (15) of Udaipur who is competing in 28th National Sub-Junior Boxing Tournament at Akola, Maharashtra played his Quarter Final bout and won it by 17 -15 against Khunchon Wangcha, Arunchal Pradesh today.

With this win, he enters into the semi-finals of the game. Suraj along with Chetan Singh and Vijay Dharu is from Udaipur in the tournament.

Chetan Singh also played well but lost against Deepak Singhy, Punjab after equal point of 8-8 in expected score but lost by individual score 21-22.

Udaipur KV No.1 tops the chart of State Level Girls Hockey Tournament

The State Level Girls Hockey Tournament of Jaipur Zone Kendriya Vidhyalaya (KV) which started from 27th Aug had its league matches played today at BN College Ground at 11 PM. Total 6 teams from the state are playing in the tournament.

First match was between KV No.1, Udaipur and KV No.1, Jaipur where Udaipur won with the score of 5-1 and Raj Rani of KV, Udaipur was titled with Player of the Match for her 3 goals. [..]

MLSU Administration Choose to ‘Keep-Finger-on-the-Lips’ over University Election Chaos

On the very next day of the call for University Bandh that was announced by the Chatra Sangarsh Samiti (CSS), today the University administration said that the Court is the final decision maker regarding the issue of allegedly forged election.

“We have given an application to the grievance committee regarding the verification of the rejected votes. If University rejects our proposal, then we will appeal to the high court”, said Surya Prakash Suhalka, Co-Ordinator, CSS.

“The court will give the final verdict; university is no more involved in this decision as soon as the elections are over. The demands and complaints of the CSS will be evaluated and entertained by the court only”, said I.V Trivedi, Vice Chancellor, MLSU. [..]

Meera Girls College, Udaipur organized a Career Counseling Seminar – ‘Job Opportunities after Degree Course’ today from 11 AM to 12.15 PM.  The event was coordinated by Career Counseling Cell of UGC.

Tractor Crashes to pieces at Chirwa Mishap

A tractor was smashed to pieces when a speeding bus, owned by a private operator lost control and rammed into the vehicle.  The incident, which occurred at Chirwa Ka Ghata today morning at 10 AM, created a setback in the traffic flow for a while, but was later cleared by the rescue team.

According to the tractor driver Kalu Singh, s/o Bhanwar Singh, resident of Marwas, Chirwa, he was leaving from Udaipur to Chirwa after fueling up his tractor from Sukher.  While encountering a U-Turn, a private video coach bus carrying passengers crashed into the tractor. [..]

Truck Overran woman at Goverdhan Vilas

Adding another tragedy to the rising road accidents in Udaipur, a truck overran three family members.  The woman deid on the spot and two of her relatives received injuries.

According to Police, Anuradha Rathore (30), w/o Late Gajendra Singh Rathore and her son her son Sainik Singh (14), resident of Indra Colony, Goverdhan Vilas were waiting for an auto rickshaw near Chungi Naaka, Goverdhan Vilas main road at 9.30AM today, along with their relative Mahendra Singh Bhati (50) .

A truck, No. RJ14-2G-5697 coming from Balicha to Udaipur was allegedly speeding on the wrong side of the road and lost its control, eventually overrunning the three-some.

anuradha14-year-old Sainik and his uncle Mahendra, luckily escaped the accident, sustained bruises since the truck just struck their sides, but Anuradha was completely smashed by the truck and died on the spot.

The truck driver was identified as Nathuram s/o Ganga Ram Jat, resident of Jognath, Jaipur.  Nathuram tried to flee from the scene, however, got stuck in the traffic near Paras Cinema Circle.  The crowd following the truck caught the driver and handed him over to the Police.

Goverdhan Vilas Police has lodged the case.

A Tribute to Mother Teresa by WIS kids

Witty International School, Udaipur celebrated the birthday of Mother Teresa on Monday and paid tribute to the reverend soul on her 98th birth anniversary.

Students, through a one-act play, depicted the sacrifices, services and social reformations initiated by Mother Teresa.

Director, Ms. Preeti Sogani encouraged the pupils to lead the world not only by educating themselves, but also, by being a worthy human being through their good deeds towards the society.

Mother Teresa was an Albanian born Indian Roman Catholic nun. She was the recipient of numerous honors including the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize and India’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna.

7 devotees runover by truck, 2 Dead

In a tragic mishap today at 6.30PM, a Container truck overran 7 devotees who were walking to Amba Ji Temple, near Kala Ji Mod, Rishabhdev Police Station.

According to Police, the group of seven was travelling to Amba Ji temple on foot; while on Kala Ji Mod, a Container Truck going from Udaipur to Ahemdabad lost its control and rammed into the group.  The driver fled from the scene along with the truck.

Dinesh s/o Kanhaya Lal Meena, resident of Jhadol Falan, died on the spot and Narendra s/o Shiv Kumar Meena succumbed to his injuries while on the way to MB Hospital, Udaipur.

Rajendra s/o Ruda Meena, Khemraj s/o Shankar Meena, Sunil s/o Jeeva Meena, Anil s/o Mohan Meena and Kanti s/o Rupa Meena received injuries.  Rajendra is seriously injured, so was sent to MB Hospital along with Narendra.

Sarada Police registered the case and are looking into it.
