Solar Home Systems distributed to 40 students of Rajasthan

Boond Foundation celebrated Independence Day yesterday at Seva Mandir, Kotra Block Office.  Under their unique idea of providing scholarship to students of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, 40 students of Rajasthan have been benefitted.

Scholarships, which was not in the form of cash, but Solar Home System (Lamps + Battery Panel) was distributed to 40 students of different schools from Kotra Block.  Seva Mandir helped in listing the names of who should be given the scholarships, which were based on the performance of students and attendance. Kidzee Celebrates Independence Day

Kidzee (Ambamata) celebrated Independence Day today with great zeal and fervor.

Flag hoisting was done by Kidzee Ambamata Director, R.K Sharma. Thereafter, National Anthem was sung by the tiny tots at Kidzee. The whole campus was decorated with tricolor balloons, tricolor rangoli & tricolor flags.

While addressing the students, R.K Sharma told the importance of why one should celebrate Independence Day.

Explaining the significance, he told the kids that Independence Day should be celebrated with utmost sincerity and commitment and one should remember the struggle and sacrifice our forefathers did to gain independence for us .He asked the parents to make their own pledge as a part of I -DAY resolution to make a difference.

The little champs presented March past wearing tri color of our flag. Patriotism was in air today. Children enjoyed dancing on many patriotic songs with flags in their little hands. [Read more...]

“Salman Khan is most loved actor of India” says Mithun Chakraborty and you can witness a bit of it at PVR Udaipur. They are running 18 shows of one of the most awaited flick of the year – Ek Tha Tiger, and all of them are going house-full.

The movie title, coupled with the fact that this was Salman Khan’s first time with Yash Raj banner was enough for pulling me to witness the 2 hour thrill compiled on the genre of Action, Romance and Thrill.

The movie revolves around the agent (Tiger – Salman Khan) who is sent by Indian Government to spy on a scientist teaching at Trinity College, Dublin to find out about his activities.

During this pursuit, Tiger falls in love with the professor’s caretaker Zoya (Katrina Kaif) and also bumps into the fact that Zoya is a secret agent of ISI.

Udaipur Celebrates 66th Independence Day [Photos]

Udaipur celebrated the 66th Independence Day of India with the great fervor, enthusiasm and a deep sense of patriotism in the customary fête that took place at Bhandari Darshak Mandap ground.

Colorful performances by over 1000 school students added flavor to the ceremony post the traditional parade. The parade was led by troops of Scout and Guide, NCC and Police Personnel followed by police-band playing rhythms of devotion on the motherland.i-day-parade1

Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya, Minister for Tribal and Rural Area Development and Panchayati Raj unfurled the national flag and took the salute at the ceremony. Education leads to the correct path – A Rotary & JAR Initiative for Inmates

On the eve of Independence Day, Study material was distributed amongst inmates at Central Jail, Udaipur. This event was carried out under a joint collaboration of Rotary Club, Udaipur and Journalists Association of Rajasthan, Udaipur.

Sushil Banthia, President, Rotary Udaipur said, “Due to lack of a sound educational background, many individuals go easily on the way of crime and later spend days of guilt during their sentence. Education is necessary, with which we get sense to control our urges, including anger.”

He asked inmates to devote at least 2 hours daily in studying the material they have been given, and refrain their senses. He added, “You should take a fresh start to walk on the correct path”, he added. [Read more...]

CSS members allege ABVP of tearing down campaign posters

A case was registered late night of Tuesday 14 Aug at Bhopalpura Police by the activists of CSS (Chatra Sangarsh Samiti) who have accused ABVP (Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad) members for tearing their election campaign posters.

According to Rajkumar Sharma, Activist, CSS, he got a call from one of his party members, informing about a group of people tearing  posters on Shastri Circle.  When members rushed to Court Chauraha, they found Hiren Patel, Dharmendra Soni and Vikram (urf Billa) all members of ABVP tearing the posters.

When the CSS members including Rajkumar tried to stop them, they escaped in their swift car in the process hurting Rajkumar on his leg during their hurried exit. [Read more...]

Rains continue in City, Tourist spots get active

Udaipur and nearby areas have received continuous rainfall on Monday, although today it remained partially dry but recurrent drizzling kept the city roads drenched.

The Rainfall recorded in past 24 hrs is 7.8mm and in the last 12 hours is 8.8mm.

According to the data provided by Water Irrigation Department – Fatahsagar Lake is now at 3.5 ft, Swaroop Sagar (Pichola) Lake at 5 ft and Badi Lake at 6.9 ft.

Evenings at Fatehsagar, Pichola and Dudh Talai are more flooded with people as the showers added the coefficient of attraction.

Teenager drowns in Gangu Kund

The body of a 15-year-old Pradeep Bairwa drowned in Gangu Kund on Monday 13th August was found today morning by a rescue team of divers.

Pradeep, a 10th drop out student of Fatah School was missing since Monday evening when his family lodged a Police complaint.  Later his clothes was found from Gangu Kund, Mahasatiya where he reportedly went to take a bath and accidently drowned in the pond.

According to the statement of Hitesh, cousin of the victim recorded by Police, the teenager was fond of learning to swim and often skipped tuition and dropped in at Maha Satiya with his friend Sunil.  Yesterday, he went to Gangu Kund at 12 in the afternoon and since then he was missing. Businessman Shot in Daylight, escapes with injury

After a few days of silence, the ear piercing gunshots are back again upsetting the harmony of Udaipur. A Businessman has been shot and left injured by two motorcycle borne attackers today afternoon in the busy and crowded area near Surajpol.

Sanjay Bhandari, a Businessman, BJP worker and husband of former Area Councilor Lata Bhandari was rushed to MB Hospital after a bullet hit his back and came out. The attack was executed at around 2:45pm when Sanjay was driving his Ford Fiesta car near his house at Sarv Ritu Vilas. [Read more...]

Ramayana-paath closing on Aug 16 at Ayyappa Temple

The month long Ramayana recital which began on July 16, 2012 at Sree Ayyappa Temple, Meera Marg, Udaipur will conclude on August 16, 2012 with Ganapathi Homam in the morning, followed by the morning Pooja.

In the evening, from 6.00 p.m. there will be Deeparadhana, Bhagwati Pooja, and Shayan Pooja besides recitation of the remaining part of the Ramayan and Bhajan, Kirthan and ‘Mahaprasad’.

It may be mentioned here that daily recitation of Ramayana and Bhajan and Kirtan during Ramayana month is an annual event at Sree Ayyappa Temple, Udaipur.
