INTUC Donates Ambulance to the Laborers

intucINTUC, in association with the Syndicate Bank today donated a fully equipped Ambulance to the workers of the un-organized sector. The program started at RNT Medical College auditorium today where labour belonging to the un-organized sector gathered from various places.

INTUC State General Secretary Jagdishraj Shrimali in his speech said that INTUC and its leaders like G. Sanjeev Reddy are dedicated for the upliftment of the un-organized sector – labour like daily wages workers and constructions labours are exploited by the Contractors (Thekedars) to such an extent that they can hardly make their living and if a labour got hurt while doing work there is no proper transportation to take him/her to the hospital. Youth Commits Suicide over Failed love

21-year-old Anil Nayak, resident of Bhopa Magri, Hiran Magri, Sector-3 was pronounced dead by doctors of Kanak Hospital yesterday evening. Anil allegedly hanged himself in his room and committed suicide.

According to the police, Anil who was an auto driver had an affair with a girl residing near his home but few days back she got married to someone else, which disturbed Anil. He was very depressed and yesterday on 21 July when there was no one at home; he locked himself in his room and hung himself from the celing fan.

His uncle Champalal Nayak saw his body hanging from the window and he immediately called people for help and rushed to Kanak Hospital where Doctors declared Anil dead.

District Level Chess concludes at Shramjeevi

The concluding ceremony consisted of Prize distribution by Chandra Prakash Bhatt, Chief Guest, Parasmal Hingad and Tej Singh Babel. The event was led by Vikas Sahu, Coach.

Setback for Congress as BJP’s Durgesh Sharma wins by 439 votes

After 15 years the BJP has turned the tables. As soon as the results were announced, there was happiness for BJP while the Congress leaders were looking at each other’s faces to find out what had gone wrong.

All the drama happened as results of sub- elections for ward no. 2 were declared in the morning.

Out of 5525 total voters, 3303 voters cast their votes in which Durgesh Sharma of BJP got 1843 votes in his name, while the Congress candidate Pramod Khabya got 1404.

The Independent Girjesh Purohit got 17 votes and another Independent Shelaindra Singh Rao got 59 votes. Security amounts of both independent candidates has been forfeited. [Read more...]

Jungle Crow and Dry Roti

jungle-crowThirsty Crow is a story we all know well and remember. The story is not baseless. Crows are the most intelligent of birds, and they’ve proved it time and again.

On May 26, 1999, we were sitting near an artificial waterhole in the Sumer Rest House in the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary of Udaipur.

During afternoon the movements of animals and birds had slackened. At ten minutes past twelve, a jungle crow came and perched on a branch of a babul tree near the waterhole.

The crow had a big piece of dry roti in its beak. After scanning the area it flew near the waterhole, submerged the roti in water and started eating it. When it had finished half of it, a blue bull came from the jungle. The crow flew away leaving a part of its food near the waterhole. [Read more...]

Constable Suspended for alleged misbehaviour

The purported misbehavior of Police Constables resulted in a harsh protest in-front of the Ghantagar Police Station in the evening today when a case was registered against Farukh, Constable and Madan Lal Verma, Head Constable, Ghantaghar Police Station.

Pallav Shrimali (18), who is also a relative of Dinesh Shrimali, Councilor, Ward No. 13; accused Farukh and Madan Lal of harassing him in the name of checking, manhandled him and dragging his bike to the Police Station with no reason.

In words of Pallav, while he was returning from Dudhtalai; Farukh stopped him by way of checking and asked for his licence.  Meanwhile when Pallav was showing him the license, Madan Lal came from behind and slapped Pallav.  He asked for the reason, and also gave reference of Dinesh Shrimali.

Madan Lal kept bad mouthing and asked him for Rs. 500 as penalty and while Pallav refused; they dragged his bike to Ghantagar Police Station. [Read more...]

Situation still unclear as Administration promises Dargah Gates to be opened for all

The issue among the Bohra community regarding opening of all access gates of the Sayyedi Luqman Saheb Shrine (Dargah) at Bohrawadi stands unresolved even after assurances given by the Administration to open all the access gates of the Shrine.

Taking the decision considering communal harmony in the month of Ramazan, the Shabab group of Dawoodi Bohra Community had agreed to keep all the gates of Sayyedi Lukman Saheb Dargah to be opened for all five times during the prayer. [Read more...]

Honda’s Dream Yuga Launched

 

Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India Private Limited (HMSI) launched their 110cc bike ‘Dream Yuga’ in an event held at Celebration Mall today.

The bike was launched by Ashish Agrawal, Financial Secretary of Pacific University and Sandeep Rana, Sales Area Manager at Honda.

“Soichiro Honda, Founder of Honda, in 1949 unveiled Honda Motorcycle Model D which went by the name Dream.  After a journey of 50 successful years we are launching Dream Yuga”, said Sandeep Rana in a Press Conference held at Alka Hotel before the launch.

Dream Yuga offers an 110cc Honda Engine, with a power of 6.35 kW (8.5 BHP) with 7,500 RPM all at a noteworthy 72 KMPL. [Read more...]

ATM Machine Damaged over a Failed Robbery

The ATM of State Bank of India located at Madri Industrial Area has been badly damaged by some unknown thieves last night.  However, the suspected muggers could not steal any cash but left a worrisome question on the security of the ATM which has no guard or watchmen.

The Pratapnagar Police has lodged the FIR given by Bank Manager, Rajendra Kumar Jain who didn’t answer any question raised by the media regarding necessary security arrangements in the government owned bank and it’s ATM.

According to the FIR, the incident came to notice today at around 9:30 in the morning when the staff reached the bank.  This asserts that the loot attempt might have been carried out after midnight. [Read more...]

Bohra Youth Demands Magistrate Orders to be Implemented over Dargah Issue

bohra-women-protestingA delegation of Bohra youth women with ward councilor Rehana Germanwala protested in front of the Additional District Magistrate’s office with the copies of the City Magistrates order in hand.

The verdict is to open the doors at both the ends of the Sayedi Lukman Saheeb Dargah at Boharwadi, which was issued a couple of days back but is not being acted upon by the administration.

Borah Youth alleged that the west and east side doors of the Dargah are intentionally closed by the members of the Shabaab Group and the doors are used by both the communities to offer prayers at the Dargah and this is an offence against the Civil Rights. [Read more...]
