Three shops located in Dhanmandi Police Station area have been targeted by suspected thieves last night. More than Rs. 3 Lac cash has been reportedly stolen from the shops. Interestingly, all three shops are general stores.
According to police, Rs. 2.60 Lac has been stolen from Sanadhiya General Stores located at Maheshwariyon ki Sehri area at Dhanmandi. Owner of the shop, Harish Chand Sharma resides just above his shop.
The second shop burgled is of Hemant Kumar Sindhi, according to the police report Rs. 60,000 has been stolen from Hemant’s shop.
Another shop is of Abhishek Jain from where, Rs. 5000 have been found to be stolen.
Thieves broke down the shutters to get into the shops and swept all the cash. Dinesh Singh Rohdiya, C.I Dhanmandi has lodged the case and started investigation.
The overnight theft has sparked the feeling of worry and fear among the business fraternities of Udaipur. The business groups demanded strong security in the area to guard their businesses.
