The upcoming week will mark the beginning of the Festive season, however, Dipsites set the mood for festivity one week in advance by conducting a special assembly on Navratri. Students of class VII-C put up the show which made not only the morning wonderful and exciting but also geared all for the fun filled gaiety for Dushehra-Diwali.
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Neeru Tandon and proceeded on with prayer, news updates and thought for the day. The curtain was unveiled after regular assembly, when the students presented a musical composition devoted to Goddess Durga, in perfect harmony.
The speech by one of the students, Aryan, gave an insight to understand the importance of Navratri; nine nights dedicated to different forms of Maa Durga, i.e. the destructive (Durga), the protective (Laxmi) and the informative (Saraswati).
The programme culminated with the fusion of Garba-Dandia which has become synonymous with Navratri in the present time, especially in the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan. The colourful costumes and rhythmic beats added to the charisma.
Participating students and the associated teachers gathered praise from the Principal.
