The city of lakes celebrated the birth day of Prophet Mohammed today with religious fervor, it is called Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH),It was an occasion to review the pledge to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet .Prophet Muhammad was born in 570 and is deemed to be the chief of all the Prophets sent on earth and it is to him that the Holy Qur’an was revealed.
Udaipur decorated mosques, houses and streets with colorful flags, lightings and other special arrangements were made to express their love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) . The main mosque of Mulla talai was immersed in colorful lights. Besides this, other mosques of the city were also decorated.
The crib at Mulla talai was a real tribute .The replica shown at the site includes the tomb and the minarets of Holy Mecca, the birth place of Prophet Mohammed. Mr. Abid and his friends says that the model shown in the picture weighted about 1 quintal and was made up of POP. It was further colored and clothed for showing the real appearance.
At Mulla Talai the arrangements costed about Rs. 4 lakhs.
The most important part of Eid Milad-Un-Nabi is focusing upon the character of the Prophet; on his teachings, sufferings, and how he forgave even his most bitter enemies. Muslims think about the leadership of the Prophet, his bravery, wisdom, preaching and his final triumph over the Meccan Muslims.
To mark this day, a huge procession was taken place which started from city centre passing through other muslim areas like silawat wadi, chandpol, ambavgarh, mulla talai and ended at the shrine of Imrat Rasool Baba
