Mewar Kshatriya Maha Sabha organized a preparatory meet at Seminar Hall of Udaipur Municipal Council in joint association with Sarv Dharam Samaj to discuss the upcoming celebration of Maharana Pratap Jayanti on 24th May 2012.
With participation of different social groups, a week long program will start from 17th May and it will end on 23rd May, 2012 followed by a grand procession.
According to the information provided by Prem Singh Shaktawat, Convener, Mewar Kshatriya Maha Sabha, the seven days program will include prayer ceremonies dedicated to individuals who played significant roles in life of Maharana Pratap, like Pannadhay, Jhala Man Singh, Chetak, Bhim Singh Dodia, etc.
On the day of the main event, a mass procession will be carried out from Chetak Circle in which a gathering of around five thousand people is expected. The procession will pass from all the major areas of the city, followed by a cultural program at Sukhadia Rang Manch.
The centre of attraction in the mass procession will be a huge portrait of Maharana Pratap and tableaux of characters relating to the Maharana Pratap. Around 51 horses, 11 camels and one elephant will be a part of this grand procession.
