Thieves targeted a deserted house at Hiran Magri Sector-5 and burgled cash and ornaments worth lacs of rupees. The case is lodged at Hiran Magri Police Station and investigation is going on.
According to police, a three storey house owned by Naresh Chawat (45), a businessman, has been ransacked by suspected thieves, the incident was discovered by one of the relatives of Naresh Chawat today.
According to sources, Chawat is in Ahmedabad for medical treatment along with his wife Pushpa Jain and nephew Vikrant Chawat, while her daughter Prabha Chawat is staying at Badgaon at her ancestral house.
Naresh Chawat met with an accident on 27 Aug and since then, he is admitted in a hospital in Ahmedabad, Chawat is accompanied by her wife and nephew.
Today, a relative Jaiprakash Mehta incidentally visited the house of Chawat at Prabhat Nagar, sec-5 and found the main gate was left open; he doubted the situation and went inside to check. He found all rooms and cupboards were break opened. Mehta immediately informed Prabha Chawat who rushed to the house.
Later, they informed Hiran Magri Police about the theft of ornaments worth Rs. 2 Lac and Rs. 20,000 cash missing from the house.
