Maharana Pratap Smarak Samiti, the management body of Moti Magri has faced resistance from the members of BJP’s Youth Wing regarding the ticketed entry to Moti Magri Garden today, on the occasion of Hariyali Amavas Mela.
Later, after the intervention of the administration and on the condition of arranging additional Police force to control the crowd, the Samiti finally agreed to permit free entry to the park.
Yudhveer Singh Shaktawat, Secretary, Maharana Pratap Smarak Samiti told UT that the “tickets we charge are only for the maintenance of the Park.”
“The Park is for the public and we don’t have any problem to make the entry free of cost on such occasions as we do the same on Maharana Pratap Jayanti and National Holidays, when the visitor strength is much lower than at Hariyali Amavasya. We simply require proper administrative support to handle any unfortunate incident. Such things should not be made political issues.
Additional SP Tejraj Singh was informed about the situation and they agreed to send more police force at Moti Magri while some people who already purchased the ticket demanded their money back.
Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha said that today people want to enjoy the fair but those who come from poor backgrounds cannot afford a ticket of Rs 40/-(per head) for Moti Magri Garden and thus have to return back disappointed.
