First Lady Pilot Annie Taldar to Gauge Sky

“Follow your heart and your dreams will come true”, this saying perfectly suits 21-year-old Annie Taldar, who has become the first lady pilot of Udaipur and now she’s all set to spread her wings as wide as she can and fly high to the endless boundaries of the sky. Becoming a pilot was her only dream and she has realised that dream today.

According to her father Anil Taldar, a businessman in Udaipur, Annie is the first female pilot of the city. “It is a moment of utter pride and joy for all us; she has achieved what she has dreamt for a long time,” says Anil.

Annie completed her exams for Commercial Pilot license training from SVKM Academy of Aviation in Shirpur, Dhule, Maharashtra where she got enrolled in the year 2009. Besides becoming a pilot at the young age of 21, Annie is also the first female to become a pilot in her flying club.

When asked what inspired Annie to choose Piloting as a career, Anil Taldar said “There is no source of inspiration but I think she is born to become a pilot.”

“At the age of 3 when she could hardly understand things around her, she was asked by someone what what she will become after growing up, Annie said innocently ‘Pilot’, and since that day till now she only dreamt of becoming a pilot. Here she is now,” said Anil proudly.

Annie has a flying experience of more than 200 hours and she has reached till 9000ft. height flying Cessna 172 Glass Cockpit, a small airplane.

While talking to UT, Annie said that she is excited, blessed and thankful to her parents for their immense support and faith on her.

“This is not just my dream which came true today; it was a dream of my mother and my father too,” said Annie in an exciting manner.

Annie Taldar has done her schooling from St. Mary’s, Udaipur; she was a fine student and equally participated in co curricular activities, she had joined the Aviation Academy soon after completing school.

Now, Anne is preparing to get a job as a pilot, “my father has invested heavily for my aim; now its my turn,” says Annie who now started dreaming of flying the AIRBUS380, one of the heaviest airplane in the world.
