Relatives, community and villagers of Savina stuck to their demands of compensation and legal action against the accused that allegedly forced Bheemraj Gameti, former Up Sarpanch to commit suicide.
Gameti died by hanging himself on Thursday morning after he was threatened to death by Kalu Lal Jain, a land mafia who wanted to possess a land owned by the victim.
According to sources, situation at MB hospital’s mortuary became tense when hundreds of people gathered outside and waited for the postmortem of victim. Community members demanded to take the body in front of collectorate and protest till their demands were not taken positively.

After hours of talks between victim’s supporters and administration, the settlement was made when family of accused agreed to give Rs.5 Lac as compensation. The amount was given today in two parts, Rs.2.5 Lac cash and 2 cheques of 1.25 Lac.
A memorandum was also handed over to Tejraj Singh ADSP by the organization Aadivasi Bhil Samaj Sudhar Seva Sansthan which appealed the police to arrest the accused Kalu Lal Jain and execute a high level investigation in this matter.
According to sources, there are many poor farmers of the area have been subjected to harassment by land mafias but they are not able to speak because of the fear.

Tejraj Singh assured of every possible help and assistance to the victim’s family to provide them justice.
An FIR was also registered against Kalu Lal Jain by the son of the deceased for provoking him for suicide and verbally abusing his caste.
