Chess in Lakecity organized a District Level Open Rapid Chess Tournament at the Shramjeevi College.
“Participants were from Under-7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 and senior groups. In total, 78 participants including 14 FIDE rated players are in the tournament,” said Vikas Sahu, Secrataty, Organising Committee.
Pallav Choudhary (9), of the Under-9 group, defeated Yugansh Shukla in the first round, Nikhil Yadav in the second and Sudhakar in third round bringing significance to the tournament. He is also known to be selected for the National Tournament.
Ojhas Shukla won over Monika Sahu, who is FIDE rated. Ravindra Paul Singh, Govind Chandel and Atul Hingad in Senior Group; Chandrajeet Singh Rajawat, Harshit Sharma, Monika Sahu in Under-17; Nikhil Yadav, Harshit Chandaliya, Gokul Pillai in Under- 15; Kartik Harchandani, Manthan Chittora, Sahil Porwal in Under-13; Bhavesh Sahu, Dhruv Dak, Bhavya Pandya in Under-11; Pallav Chaudhary, Devansh Chechani, Prabhav Maheshwari in Under-9 and Nishant Chopra, Austin George, Dhruv Kalani, Prakahar Mehta in Under-7 were the winners in the rounds held today.
The inauguration of the tournament was done by Chief Guest of the event Ghanshyam Singh Bhinder and was led by Vikas Sahu, Coach. Rishi Salvi was the judge of this four round tournament.
