Handicapped Man found dead in Hotel

A completely burnt body of a man was found in a room at Hotel Siddharth, Udiapol today morning at around 5:30am.  Surajpol Police has sent the body for postmortem and there is no strong evidence to decipher the cause of death.

According to sources, Kishore(35) a physically handicapped man from Ganganagar had checked-in to Hotel Siddharth on 15 November 2011 and he was in the city for his treatment at Narayan Seva Sansthan .

It was around 5:30 in morning when the hotel owner saw smoke coming out from Room no.108 where Kishore was staying.  The owner immediately broke the door and after seeing the condition of the room he called police. [Read more...]




Valuables worth Rs.10 Lacs stolen from Farmer’s House

Yesterday (Nov 28) after midnight a house was robbed by an alleged group of thieves in Madri area of Udaipur.Gold and Silver ornaments and cash worth Rs. 10 lacs has been reported missing from the house of Dalichand Dangi, a farmer from Kanpur village, Madri.

As per the sources, one part of his house has been given on rent while the other is used by his family. It is also stated that at the time of incident Dalichand was not there.

According to the police, the theft occurred after midnight when Dalichand’s mother Laxmi Bai was sleeping with two children of their relatives. The thieves have taken with them ornaments of about 20 tola (200 gms.)gold and 5 kg silver. [Read more...]




Goons Open Fire at Handicraft Showroom

Once again local mafia and gangs dared to show their fearlessness by openly firing several rounds to frighten their victim. The shocking shoot-out incident occurred today evening at around 6 pm when 5 people entered into a handicraft and jewelry showroom near Gulab Bagh and extorted money.

Maharana Museum located near Green View Restaurant was ransacked by goons, many expensive artifacts and jewelries have been destroyed by assailants who demanded Rs.1 lakh before fleeing from there.

According to the police sources, assailants were identified as: Vinod aka Bakri, Imran, Malkhan Singh, Shankar and an unknown person who entered into the showroom and asked for the owner Adil Khan. However, as Adil was not there, the culprits asked the cashier, Ashok Sinha to hand over the keys of locker and when Sinha refused to give the keys Vinod opened fire just to scare him while others ransacked the shop. Married Woman attempted suicide

A woman has been admitted to hospital under critical condition after she attempted suicide by setting herself to fire last night of Thursday, 17 Nov.

Mohini (24), who is fighting for life with 95% of the body burnt, is admitted to city’s MB Hospital and her condition is very serious.

According to Police report, on November 17, at around 20:00Hrs both Mohini and her husband, Goverdhanlal had quarreled over a family matter and the heated argument turned worst when Mohini doused herself in kerosene and set herself on fire.

Ram Sumer, SHO, Sukher Thana said, “We were informed by victim’s husband Goverdhan Lal. Police team arrived at his house and tried to rescue the victim, she was immediately rushed to the hospital with severe burns.”

“Police has registered a case of Attempt to Suicide while further investigations are on,” said the officer.

Burglary at Ornament Store

Early this morning burglars broke shutters of Silver Moon, an ornament store at Bhatiyani Chohtta and stole precious items which have been estimated worth Rs. 3-4 lakhs.

Some jewellery, silver idols (show pieces) and precious stones rings have been reported missing from the jewellery shop.

Maan Singh Bhati, the owner of the shop was informed about the incident by his neighbors and later reported immediately to the local police station.

“On hearing some disturbing noises early in the morning at around 3 or 4 am, neighbors came out and saw some people were fleeing away in a car and a motorbike, they instantly informed me. When I came to the shop I found the shutter was broken and some items were missing,” said Maan Singh.

“Theft report was registered at the police station at 4:30 in the morning but we do not have the precise list of missing items yet,” said Shuahrad Singh, a police officer at Surajpol police station.

One more Female Fetus found

In a disturbing development, Ambamata Police has found an 8 month-old female fetus in the sewerage near a park located at Mansoor Colony Ambamata, Udaipur.

According to sources, some residents of the area have informed police about a fetus lying in the sewerage at 8 o’clock in the morning today. The Ambamata Police team led by SHO Niranjan Alaha reached the spot and taking stock of the situation, took the fetus in their custody and sent it for the postmortem.

The fetus was declared to be female and 8-month-old; Ambamata police have registered a case and started investigations.




Rs.20 Lacs Liquor Consignment Seized

liquor-seizedUdaipur Police has succeeded in cracking illegal consignment of liquor worth lacs of rupees from a truck today at 3:30AM, though no arrest have been made as three people jumped out of the truck when they saw police barricades and managed to escape due to dark.

Liquor estimated about Rs 20 lacs has been seized from Gujarat Highway by a team of Pratap Nagar Police Station. Satish Kumar Meena police officer said, “We have been informed about the truck passing through Purohito ki Madri and going towards Gujarat.”

The officer said, “Acting on the hint we laid a barricade at Gujarat Highway and after a while we saw a truck coming towards the barricade but seeing the police, the driver stopped the vehicle far away from the barricade and fled, there were 3 people in the truck.”

All liquors were packed in over 500 boxes and were brought from Haryana. After checking the truck no documents were found but police is investigating through truck number and search hunt has already started to trace the culprits.




Alert Victim Helped Police in Arresting Car Thieves

In an interesting crackdown a gang of car thieves have been caught with the help of a victim whose own car was stolen from Town Hall at Diwali Mela going on at Nagar Parishad.

Following a raid at a garage, S.S Car Care at Hiran Magri, city police has arrested three members of the gang and found three vehicles that were stolen from various places of the city in the last few days.

Rajkumar Jain, whose car Maruti Van was stolen from Town Hall on Oct 24, deserves all the credit for this success as he not only registered a complaint at Surajpol Police on the same day but also started searching his lost vehicle by his own sources.

After a few days of self investigation, Rajkumar came to know that his vehicle is located at one of the garage at Hiran Magri and after informing the police he reached that garage where he identified his car. [Read more...]




5 Detained for illicitly selling fireworks

Five people have been arrested by Surajpol Police today for illegally selling fireworks at the onset of Diwali festival. While, a temporary firework market at Gandhi Ground has witnessed another year of downfall in business.

Fireworks sellers Ashok Sindhi, Nanakram Lalwani, Ashutosh Sharma, Vimal Tiwari and Sagarmal were booked under Explosive Act 286 of IPC. All detained traders have their shops at Amal ka Kanta, Surajpol.

According to Sobhagya Singh, SHO Surajpol Police Thana, “We received information about five local traders that they are selling fireworks in a densely populated area without legal documents and license so we made small teams and raided the shops.”

“We arrested them after they failed to produce license for selling fireworks,” the officer added. [Read more...]




Kidnapped man found dead

murder-sceneA dead body of a man was found today at Dabok- Mavli Highway. It was later discovered that the deceased was reportedly kidnapped one day before from Gogunda, near Udaipur.

Today at around 6 a.m. Dabok police found a body of 42-year-old Suresh Paliwal at the road side of Dabok- Mavli highway.

According to the sources, on 21 Oct 2011 at around 4.30 p.m. Suresh Paliwal son of Keshu Lal Paliwal was allegedly kidnapped while he was going somewhere with his friend.
