Four women hailing from the Southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu have been caught red handed while trying to snatch a Gold Chain from a lady passenger today afternoon in an auto rickshaw moving towards Shastri Circle from Sunderwas.
Due to the victim’s alertness and local public’s ardent support, all four women culprits were caught and thrashed before being handed over to the police who arrived after being informed on helpline number 100, the Police control room.
All women are residents of Chennai’s Rajlaxmi Nagar. They are identified as Saraswati Naidu (30), Manjula Naidu (30), Shanti Naidu (30) and Manisha Naidu (31).
According to the C.I. OF Bhopalpura Police Station Madan Gehlot, the victim Yashoda Ganchi, resident of Sunderwas was going to deliver Tiffin to her husband Devilal Ganchi who works at Shastri Circle.
Yashoda, as usual took an auto from her residence, and at Thaukar Chouraha four women got into the auto. When the auto reached near Maa Satiya, one of the lady started vomiting. Yashoda got distracted by her act and other women cut off the gold chain of 1.5 tola from the victim.
But as soon as the chain was cut, Yashoda realized and caught one of the woman thieves while the other started running away and the other two were caught by people there.
“One motorcyclist caught the woman running, people informed police” said the officer.
An FIR has been lodged by Yashoda Ganchi at the Bhopalpura Police Station against all four women. Police will start interrogating all culprits.
