Businessman Shot in Daylight, escapes with injury

After a few days of silence, the ear piercing gunshots are back again upsetting the harmony of Udaipur. A Businessman has been shot and left injured by two motorcycle borne attackers today afternoon in the busy and crowded area near Surajpol.

Sanjay Bhandari, a Businessman, BJP worker and husband of former Area Councilor Lata Bhandari was rushed to MB Hospital after a bullet hit his back and came out. The attack was executed at around 2:45pm when Sanjay was driving his Ford Fiesta car near his house at Sarv Ritu Vilas.

Two youth on a motorcycle approached him and once close, the pillion rider took out a gun and fired at Sanjay Bhandari. Luckily the bullet passed through Bhandari’s back avoiding any serious injuries.

A property tussle is said to be the reason of the attack; the attackers have also been identified but their names are not yet disclosed.

Top Police officials including I.G, S.P, Ad.S.P and Dy.S.P reached the spot. Many political leaders also rushed to hospital to check on Bhandari’s wellbeing.

Police has installed naka bandi at several places of the city but no traces of any attacker have been found.

A similar case was registered a few months back when Motilal Dangi, a BJP member and property dealer was attacked, similarly, near his residence.
