The Shabab-Youth brawl on Monday 6th Aug took another turn today when nine members of Shabab Community were sent to judicial custody by Udaipur session court.
Session court judge Praveen Kumar Mishra pronounced the orders under section 308 IPC (Attempt to commit culpable homicide) and sent nine people to jail. According to lawyers, this section is non-bailable and carries punishment of three years of imprisonment.
Names of the arrested members are: Sheikh Shabbir Mustafa, Tahir Ali Bohra, Ali Asghar Rassawala, Akbar Ali Bijliwala, Hatim Ali Rangwala, Hatim ali Salumberwala, Abbas Kayaji, Ashiq Ali Kurabadwala and Ashiq Hussain Mominwala (Mumbai).
Thousands of Bohra men from Shabab group marched to collector’s office after offering namaz at Taiyabeiyah School, Delhi Gate and gave a letter of memorandum to district collector seeking dropping of all charges against the accused.
Group was led by Amil Sheikh Mustafa Moiyaddi and other senior community members. The District Collector however rejected the plea.
Bohra residential area has been quite tense since the disquiet that occurred yesterday between Shabab and Youth groups over domination in a mosque which led to a clash in which several people were reportedly injured.
