New Panel of Rotary Heritage Club Sworn in

The inception ceremony of Rotary Heritage Club for the year 2012-13 and thanks giving ceremony for the year 2011-12 was held on 18th July at Hotel Paras Mahal.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Roopkumar Khurana, Chairman UIT; the Special Guest was Prof. B.P Sharma, Professor Pacific College, while the inception Ceremony was conducted by Nirmal Singhvi, ex-Governor of the club.

While addressing the gathering, Rupkumar Khurana said that for development of the city Rotary Youth Clubs should come forward.  He said that the priority of UIT is to improve the road network of the city.  UIT is thinking about using the waste land in front of Fateh School to connect a road to Ashok Nagar and they also want to widen Durga Nursery Road by 25 feet to solve the problem of traffic, he further added. Two day fair organized under Nanhe Hath Kalam Ke Sath

Umang, a two day fair that was organized at the Kotda Panchayat Samiti under the ambit of Nanhe Hath Kalam ke Saath, an initiative by the State Government and UNICEF ended on Thursday.

Through this fair villagers received information about various policies of the Government.  In the fair, one hundred and twenty people were issued income certificates and seventeen were issued caste certificates.

Vipin Tiwari, Caravan Coordinator, said that in Kotda Panchayat Samiti, a 15 day awareness campaign was organized and the Umang Fair was organized on the last two days of this campaign.  At the closing ceremony of the fair,  various performances took place, which included dance, magic and drama. Meditation Program by Alok Sansthan

Alok Sansthan organized a Tratak Meditation Program, a method of meditation which involves concentrating on a single point, at the Alok Senior Secondary School in Hiran Magri in which 3000 students participated.

MPUAT Professor receives Vasant Rao Naik Award for Research Work

Dr. S.K Sharma, Chief of Research at MPUAT received the national level Vasant Rao Naik award from the National Agriculture Research Centre, New Delhi for his research work in dry land farming.

In a program organized on the 84th foundation day of the council, Dr. Sharma was given a certificate of appreciation and One Lac Rupees by the National Agriculture Minister.

Dr. Sharma has been working under the All India Coordinated Research Project for Dry Land Farming since 2005 at Bhilwara District for increasing agricultural production, Water Conservation, Dry Land Farming methods, etc.

His research has been used by the National Livelihood Mission to increase the livelihood of farmers. This research has helped increase the income of Dry Land farmers from 7,000 to 35,000 per hectare, and corn production has increased from 20% to 40%.

Margaret Alva to visit Udaipur

Hemant Kumar Gera, District Collector said that she will reach Udaipur on 18th July at 11 am and will proceed to the Circuit House. At 5.30 pm in the evening, she will visit Shilpgram and return to the Circuit House at 6.45pm.

On 19th she will preside a joint session of the Governing body and Executive body of the North Cultural Centre at 11am, subsequent to which, she will go to the Literature Academy at 5 in the evening. [Read more...]

JRNRV Hosts Seminar on Library Science

A three day seminar on Library studies started today at Lok Manya Tilak Teachers Training College affiliated to Janardhan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University.

Various librarians from Dungarpur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Sirohi and Rajsamand participated in the seminar where they were told about the various concepts related to On-Line Library on the first day.

The participants were told about the mobile library started by Jannu Bhai and its objectives. It was told in the seminar that at 10 Jan Bharti Centres, mobile libraries are run by Vidyapeeth.

Dr. Premlata Gandhi, Coordinator, told that in the coming days the participants will be given information related to On-Line Library by Dr. Ramkesh Meena of M.L.S.U.

MLSU Hosts Lecture on the importance of Humanities

mlsu-seminar-hindiProf. Agarwal, a member of the Union Public Service Commission and Vikhyat Sanskritik Chintak in a lecture on Manviki ke Bina Manavta ki Kalpana” (Imagining Humanity without Humanities) at the Hindi Department of M.L.S.U said, that to establish humanity we will have to emphasize on the study of Humanities. Without the study of humanities there can be no curiosity and if there is no curiosity, study of science is not possible.

Prof. Agarwal, while comparing the allotted budget for research purposes for Science and Humanities said that the budget allotted for Humanities is very less. An 11% amount has been allotted to Science, while humanities are given only 2%.

He said that without a profound study of literature one cannot differentiate between a Chetan Bhagat and Amitabh Ghosh. [Read more...]

My FM Celebrates 5th Anniversary in Udaipur

Devendra Singh Pathak, Station Head along with all the RJ’s including RJ Ankit Mathur and RJ Suri, and members of the production and marketing team celebrated the eve of their anniversary with underprivileged children and senior citizens.

Devendra also said that their five years stay in Udaipur has been very pleasant and spending time with the underprivileged people is a small attempt on their part to make these people happy.

Ex-Serviceman Cooperation to start in August

Sainik Nigam organized for ex-servicemen is likely to start next month.  Most of the formalities regarding this have been completed by the Department of Sainik Welfare.

Sainik Nigam was registered along with the declaration of budget in March 2012 under the name of Ex-Serviceman Cooperation Ltd.

Department of Sainik Welfare has given the post of first Managing Director of the Cooperation to Director of Sainik Welfare and also Officials of the welfare department were called to Jaipur Head-Office to complete the legal procedure.

This cooperation will benefit approximately two hundred ex-servicemen of the state including those of Udaipur.  They will get jobs in Government Departments directly through the cooperation for which, they will have to register with it. [Read more...]
