[Photos] Army Hang Gliders Landed in Udaipur, claims World Record

hang-gliding-udaipur1It was a moment of pride and joy for Udaipur to witness a world record attempt made by 10 daredevils of the Indian Army, who have travelled across three cities of Rajasthan covering 700km in 3 days by hang-gliding.

The Indian Army claimed to set a world record yesterday on 17th February, when Naik Subedar Paramjit Singh glided 380 km nonstop for 7 hours from Bikaner to Sanderao in Pali.

The expedition was flagged off from Sri Ganganagar on 16th February 2012 when 3 gliders took off and were flagged in at Eklingarh Army Camp, Udaipur, today on 18 February 2012. [Read more...]

Richard Branson’s daughter visits Lai Village, Udaipur

Holly Branson, daughter of Sir Richard Branson, Chairman of the Virgin group and one of UK’s richest businessman, along with her husband Freddie Andrews spent a few pleasant hours in Lai, a village 15 km from Udaipur on 14th February. Holly was on her Charity Tour in Rajasthan.

Haraval Cycle Marathon is Back

After the immense success of the first ever cycle marathon held in Udaipur a few months back, the Harawal Cycle Marathon is back again to give momentum to the cycle fever in the city.

Haraval-2, the second Cycle Marathon, is scheduled on Sunday, 19th February from 7am. The rendezvous being Pichola Lake, it would be an approximately 30kms ride starting from Pichola Lake going around Samor Bagh, Jagdish Temple, Swaroop Sagar, Fateh Sagar, Shilpgram, Badi, Rampura Circle, Sisarma and back to Pichola Lake.
