In a successful raid conducted last night by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Udaipur, 6 persons were caught from a RTO checkpoint on Memdar, Sirohi near Gujarat border and accused of taking illegal toll.
According to ACB, the operation was planned on the tip off from sources regarding the illicit toll being collected on RTO checkpoint at Memdar, Sirohi. A team from ACB Udaipur left for the operation at 11.00PM and the raid was executed at 4AM.
In the raid, a total collection of Rs. 1, 51, 250 was seized which is said to be the collection of a mere 4 hours. One of the private workers named Jeeva Ram Meghwal tried to escape but was later caught from his home in Mander with Rs. 68,000 and some documents.
The accused Ramesh Vaishnav, DTO; Kaansingh Parihar, DTO; Sitaram Khatik, Guard; Samar Singh, Guard; Hansa Ram Bhil, Private Worker and Jeeva Ram Meghwal, a private Worker were arrested and brought to Udaipur today evening.
The team of ACB who executed this raid successfully includes – Rajendra Prasad Goyal, ADSP, Udaipur; Gopal Swaroop Mewara, ADSP, Rajsamand; Rajeev Joshi, DYSP and other teammates of ACB.
Also, in a raid on Ramesh Vaishnav’s residence in Sirohi, documents related to Lacs worth of illegal income were found. Raids on the residences of accused are in process as we write this.
