The princely town of Mewar has once again dressed in its royal attire; apparently it is festive time. Every nook and corner, shops and houses are decked with colorful lightning, flowers and rangoli. The city of lake is all set to celebrate Deepawali- the festival of lights.
Ignoring the rising prices for everything, people are enjoying shopping and shops are attracting customers with the most possible offers they can provide.
Bursting sound of crackers has started piercing ears and dozens of ‘Happy Diwali’ messages has pulled out the cellphone inbox.
Saving themselves from contaminated sweets and horrifying traffic situation, Udaipurites will mark the day of Deepawali tomorrow on Oct 26.
Laxmi Puja is the main ritual to be performed to please the Goddess of Wealth, Laxmi. We the UT team wishes our every reader, subscribers, sponsors and advertisers a Very Happy Diwali!
Here are some pictures clicked by Sayeed Ahmed in the last two days of Deepawali. We hope it is the best way to ‘not-to-miss’ Udaipur for those who are far away from their homeland.
