6% Discount on Purchase of Gold Coins from Post Offices

goldyAkshaya Tritiya is observed as an auspicious and festive day in Indian culture and the World Gold Council has offered a special discount of 6% on purchase of gold coins in partnership with Indian Post and Reliance Money.

This year this day falls on 24th April and the scheme has started from 19th April and it will last till 30th June under which the consumers can purchase 99.9% pure, Swiss-manufactured gold coins in denominations of one gram, five grams, eight grams, ten grams, 20 grams and 50 grams from a network of 980 India Post outlets across the country.

It is a tradition to buy gold on this particular day as it is believed that that this brings long term prosperity and success.

Ajay Mitra, Managing Director of India and Middle East, World Gold Council said, “Gold and gold jewellery bought and worn on this important day signifies never diminishing good fortune. The traditional and cultural appeal of gold, combined with its strong fundamentals, means the precious metal remains central to Indian households’ long-term investment strategies.”

He added that has been reported that gold now accounts for seven percent of household savings and therefore they are delighted to work with Indian Post Offices in gold promotion.

“The primary objective is make sure the availability of pure gold coin to all the sections of the society and the extensive network and credibility of Indian Post Offices makes it a perfect partner of the World Gold Council,” said Mitra.
